It Can't

Chapter 2

''So, how is Kate?'' asked my mom while I was tooking off my shoes.

I joined her in the kitchen where there was a good smell of chicken.

''She's doing okay...'' I said, taking a glass of water.

''And how about this little cutie, Nathan?''

I smiled when she said his name. He is really cute and so mature for his 6 years old. When he had finished his homework, he started to talk about his family.

''My father is always working in his office, but when he comes home in the afternoon, he plays with me. We do a racing car and you know what?''

''What?'' I've answered.

''He always wins! I don't know what is his secret, he doesn't want to tell me...'' Then he continued. ''How about your dad? Do you do racing car with him?''

A little laugh went out of my mouth.

''No...See, I'm not really a person who likes to do racing cars cause I loose them all!''

''Hayden always says that too. He doesn't want to play with us cause he's 'suppositly' so bad. But I personaly think that he just wants to spend time with his Barbie...''

''His Barbie?'' I said with interrogation.

''Yeah, his girlfriend. I call her Barbie cause she looks like a Barbie. I hate her.''

''Why?'' I asked.

''Because she hates me too.''

He looked down and I put my hands on his curly hair.

''I think that you are a really good friend...''

He looked at me and his blue eyes stared into mine.

''You're a cool teacher too...''

I smiled and he put away his books in his bag pack.

I was sad for him. I don't even know the girlfriend of his brother and she seems like she's like the one you wouldn't be friend with. But this boy, Hayden Williams... I don't know many things about him.

Ok Elena, stop acting like a psycho!

''Anyway, I'm in my room. If you need any help, just call me.'' I said to my mom.

''Okay.''

I went upstairs and when I saw my computer on my bed, an idea came on  my mind. I sat on my bed and opened my computer to connect myself on Facebook. I tapped to the ''Research'' Hayden Williams and found a profile that has a lot of common friends with me. I clicked on it and didn't realise that my heart was beating so hard right now. I clicked on the profile picture and saw a selfie of a girl and a boy that were not strangers to me. Blonde girl and a guy with brown hair... The two from the picture...The Barbie...Hayden and his girlfriend Ally!

In the picture, we can't really see his face because he was kissing her neck while she was kind of smiling. In the comments section, someone named Ally commented: «Love you babe, xox». I didn't realise that I've been checking the picture for so long until I heard someone knocking on my door,

''Elena! I've been calling you for about 20 minutes now!''

Then, she entered and I rapidly closed my computer.

''Sorry, I was... working so hard on a presentation.'' I lied, giving her a 'sorry smile'.

''It's time to eat.'' said my mother who was now really frustrated.

I nodded and joined her to the kitchen where my father was waiting for us.

''I was waiting for you girls.'' he said.
