I was sitting alone at a desk in the second row. For once, I wanted Julia to be here with me and gossipping about Kyle or wathever, but she wasn't in my sciences' classes. In fact, she was only in my maths' classes. That means that I am going to past my entire year alone for the group projects, nice beginning of school...
A girl with a perfect bun and glasses on sat at the desk besides me. She was carrying a lot of books in her hands and when she put them on her desk, one book fell right beside my foot so I picked it up and gave it to her.
''Oh, thanks!'' she said while putting it on top of the other one. She returned to see me and said,
''I'm Penelope and you?''
''Elena.''
''Wow, you have a really beautiful name!''
I smiled to her and answered,
''Thank you.''
A lot of students began to enter in the class, but suddently, Hayden came in. This time, only with a guy, not with his girlfriend. He didn't notice me and continued his way to a random desk in the corner of the class.
Why would he notice you anyway Elena?
The teacher entered and at the same moment, the bell rang announcing another boring class, as usual. I always try to participate, but it wasn't like I have catastrophic marks, on the contrary, my report has always been excellent.
While he was saying what we will be doing during this year in science, I had a strange feeling that somebody was staring at me so I looked at Penelope. However, she was listening to the teacher while bitting her pencil. I looked behind me and then my eyes met his. Again. Shy that I am, I instantly looked at my book. Calm. Calm. Calm. I kept repeating in my head.
"So..." Said the teacher. "Team up with anybody for the presentation."
Everybody seemed to have a partner and I was really stressing out about being alone until Penelope asked me,
"Wanna be with me for the presentation?"
Oh, thank you!
"Sure!"
I didn't know what the presentation was about because I didn't listen to what the teacher was explaining.
Forget that Hayden and concentrate!
"Cool.My friend isn't in my class; it's sucks." she said.
"My best friend isn't here too..." I added. "What if we do it this weekend? I know that it's for two weeks,but I like to work in advance..." I said.
"I'm good for this weekend!" she said.
She took a piece of paper from her notebook and wrote something on it.
"That's my number. But it's my house number, not mine...Cause... I don't have a cellphone." she said with a shy smile.
I was surprised, but didn't say anything. These days, everyone has a cellphone, it's so weird when a person don't have one. I took the piece of paper.
"Okay, thanks."
"Welcome."
The bell rang, and all the students went outside the class.
"It was nice to meet you Elena! Hope to see you soon." said Penelope.
"Nice to meet you too..."
Just when I got out my class, Julia was waiting for me impatiently.
"Hey..." I started but she cut me off.
"You know what?! I'm in team with Kyle for a philosophy project! Isn't that really cool?!"
I put my hand on her forehead and said with a dramatic voice,
"Oh my God, are you going to die?"
I laughed and pulled out my hand while she was rolling her eyes.
"Ha.Ha"
We walked to our lockers. Julia's locker was far from mine so I went alone to unlock mine. When I opened it, a girl came besides me to unlock her locker and I got surprised to see that it was Ally.
"You have a problem?" she asked me with a bitchy voice, laughing alone.
I shook my head to say no and took the book that I needed for my next class. Joy, I'm gonna pass my entire year with a Barbie besides me.
She was putting some gloss on her lips while speaking to one of her friend. And then, came her boyfriend from nowhere.
"Babe!" She yelled and jumped to give him a hug. "I've missed you...".
Girl, it's been only an hour...
"Missed you too baby..." he said with a sexy voice that I would hear all my life.
Okay Elena, stop this now.
I locked my locker and went to join Julia.
"Do you know a lot about Ally and Hayden?" I asked.
"Why? You wanna date him?" she said with a laugh.
"No!" I yelled causing the looks of some students.
"Calm down Elena, I was only joking around, jeez!'' she said.
"Sorry..."
"From what I know, she said to her friends that she wants him just because he would buy her everything she wants. They started dating this summer and I think that he got cough by her fake love. I mean, he is really handsome and he probably has a lot of girl that want to date him, but he decided to be with the worst of all them.'' Julia explained to me.
"She's even on a picture at the Williams' house!" I said frustrated for no reason. After all, it didn't concerne me...
"What? How...How do you know that uh?" asked Julia now lost.
"Well..." and I started to tell her all the story of the private teacher thing that I'll be doing this year.
"Oh gosh! Why you didn't tell me this?! You will be stuck in the house of Hayden and maybe with Ally? In one hand, Hyaden will be around which makes oyu so lucky, but in the other hand, Ally will probably be there too. Poor you...''
"I know..." I sighed.
We steered in our class and passed the rest of the day like this.
