Save Me

T W E N T Y F O U R

We sat at breakfast in silence. Tension hung in the air after Lily's comment. I swirled my glass and watched as the blood came close to pouring out. It was torture for my senses to be so close but not drinking it.

"Stop playing with it" Crow snapped. I had told him what Lily had said and he seemed more confused than me. We had became quite good friends lately and it was strange. I didn't really have friends before Lauren.

I took a drink and licked my lips. Lily looked pale as she watched me eat. Her golden eyes following my every move. I finished my meal and placed the glass in the sink. As I was rinsing it I heard the apartment door open and someone walk inside.

Lucifer walked into the room with a hopeful grin on his face "Have you fixed her?" He asked.

I shook my head and he sighed. "I think I have a plan though. This could work" I leaned back as the pieces of my idea joined together and made sense.

Lily, who seemed to have missed the exchange of words between Lucifer and myself, still stared at me. It was like she was waiting for something. "Can I talk to you?" I asked her. 

She nodded, frowning at my grim expression. I walked into our bedroom and sat in the armchair. She walked in and sat on the edge of the bed. "What is it?" She asked.

I smiled "You were right. I need to forget about Lauren. She wasn't good for me" Her face lit up and she smiled. "I hope you don't leave though. I was really starting to like you"

She giggled "I'm not going anywhere. Not anymore"

I grinned "Perfect"

Lucifer took her to school and Crow and I stayed home to figure things out. "I've worked it out. I know what she wants" I said jumping up onto the counter top. 

"Shoot" Crow said. He looked bored. I think he gave up on Lauren a while back. Talking to her gave him a small ounce of hope but it didn't last.

"She's jealous. Lily's jealous of Lauren" I laughed. "I know it sounds stupid but today when I told her that I was giving up on Lauren and wanted her to stay instead you should have seen her face. She was ecstatic"

Crow straightened up "So? What next?"

I shrugged "I don't know. My plan ends there"

Suddenly Crow groaned. "You're an idiot. We could have exploited her jealously. Seven deadly sins. Envy"

"Fuck!" I shouted.

"Doesn't matter now. You can fix this. I'm going out" Crow picked up his jacket and left. I stared after him. How could he give up so quickly?

"Ryan...." Lily said. I bit back a groan as I smiled at her.

"Yes?" I asked. She giggled and I had to wonder why.

I looked down and saw a large wicker basket in her hands. "Let's go for a picnic" she said excitedly. 

I nodded "Ok?"

Crow walked out behind her wheeling a large blue cooler box. "I'll bring the blood" he muttered and walked out of the apartment. This day was getting weirder by the second.
