Chapter Twenty Six

*Dani's POV*

It was about midnight and everyone had been dancing and talking and done a little bit of singing, some better than others. The clock in the dining room struck 12 and it was now Kendall and I's anniversary. I'm sure he wasn't thinking about it but it was all that was on my mind. "Hey! I'll be right back." He nodded. I ran upstairs to get the guitar. It was in a big box in my room. I picked it up and brought it to the stairs. I looked around to make sure he wasn't in the living room. I brought it downstairs and set it on the dining table. I walked to the kitchen to find Kendall, and sure enough, he was in there. "Hey! It's midnight" I told him. "Oh are you getting tired or something?" I was confused. "No, It's just-" "Well then let's go dance" He pulled me back into the living room. Did he really forget? He forgot about our anniversary. Do I still give him a gift? I mean, if he didn't get me anything, I don't want to make him feel bad. I guess I won't. "Are you alright? You look upset." He really doesn't remember. "No, I just thought, nevermind." He looked confused. I can't believe he forgot. I smiled and walked over to Cassie. "Hey! Today is me and Kendall's anniversary, but I don't think he remembers." She giggled. "Sorry, uh, James said something funny. I don't know, I'm sorry" That didn't help me much. "Thanks anyways" I walked back upstairs so people didn't see me upset. I sat on my bed. So he just forgot? I mean it was only our six month. He may not have realized. I stayed in my room for about twenty minutes or so. I walked back downstairs. Everyone was in the Kitchen. Weird. I walked in and saw Cassie, Avery, and Hope sitting at the table, and the boys, except Kendall, standing in the middle of the kitchen. They did a little harmony thing where Carlos sang 'La' and then James sang a harmony and then Logan too. Then they started singing this, it started out slow:

I had the guys sing it for me

What in the world is happening? What are they singing? Just then, they stepped aside and Kendall stepped forward with his hands behind his back. He continued the song solo.

You are my precious sweetie

But honey, I'm an actor

I made you think I was forgetful

I definitely remembered

No open up your arms for me to show my love

I was laughing at his cheesy song. James grabbed my hands and made me hold them out. Carlos came behind me and put his hands over my eyes. I felt a box being placed in my hands. Carlos moved his hands and the cutest little gift box was in my hands. I opened it. It was... a note. He got me a note. I read it aloud. "Dear my sweet Dani, how I love you so. Don't worry, this isn't your present, oh no. It's just the first step. Let's hop in the car to reminisce where we first met." I looked up and he was gone. Everyone pulled and pushed me to the front door and to Carlos' car. "What's going on?" "You'll see" Logan said laughing.
