*Logan's POV*
"I love you too, Logie" She knows I hate that. I hugged her again. "I'm glad because this was gonna be really awkward in this party if you didn't. Oh also, do you have like a friend at your house with you? Oh or is your sister here? My buddy is going to be the only one without a date" "No, my sister's not there, but I do have a friend with me, she can come?" "Yes! Lets go get her." We started walking up to the house and I reached for her hand. She smiled and laid her head on my shoulder. "You have no idea how badly I've wanted this for the past six years. I, um, I haven't even had a boyfriend since you left. Well, I have, but he wasn't you, so I didn't really feel anything there. My mom told me countless times to give up on you, but I just never could. I knew it would happen someday, or at least I hoped." "You were right. I'll have to go prove it to Mrs. Carter" She laughed. "Yeah, her and my dad are out at dinner somewhere." "That's cool, what's your friend's name?" "Hope, and yes she is single so she can be your friend's date." I laughed. "Perfect. Carlos is really energetic, but I guess girls make him nervous or something because when he has a date, he talks really quiet and sweet." "I'm sure Hope will bring out the best of him, she can be a little crazy." "She sounds perfect for him." We walked up the hill and didn't talk for a while. "It's so great that we can just pick up where we left off. I mean, I was afraid you wouldn't remember me, or that you might have a boyfriend, or just have changed, but you're still the same Avery I accidentally fell in love with." I looked over to her and she looked choked up. "C'mon, I know I'm not that sweet. Why do you keep tearing up?" She laughed a little. "I don't know, I just missed you. I, uhh, I haven't really been myself in a while." "What do you mean?" "Well, since you left I've just got more and more.... depressed." I stopped walking. "Let me see your arms right now. I thought we got through this before I left. Savannah was making you miserable and you thought cutting would solve it, but it doesn't. Listen to me Ave" I put my hands on her face. "I am here now. And I was nothing to get that upset over while I was gone. Please show me your arms, tell me you haven't." She was crying. She pulled up her sleeves and it was like a ton of bricks were lifted off of me. "Logan, just b-" I hugged her. I whispered in her ear, "That's my girl." "Wait, Logan. Just because they aren't here anymore doesn't mean I didn't before. I just know that I couldn't handle you being proud of me and it not being true." I looked her in the eyes. "Just, was it because of me?" She just stood there. "I'm sorry! Please don't feel guilty, that will make me so sad" "Why wouldn't I? It's all my fault. Why were you so upset?" "I thought you left me because I wasn't good enough, and I thought you would find a new better girl and fall in love and you left without me getting the opportunity to tell you how I felt." "You had feelings for me before I left?" She nodded. "Since the beginning of sixth grade I had a major crush on you. I knew you didn't feel the same, so I never said anything. I thought in high school things would change, and you would actually like me. Except, you left." I felt so terrible. I didn't know what to do. So, I picked her up randomly by her waist and ran up the hill to the top. "Is this your house?" She was laughing so hard. "Yeah, what was that for?" "I was tired of watching you cry." She laughed and walked up to the front door. She opened it and yelled, "HOPE!" I heard running down the stairs. Avery still had tear stains when she opened the door, and looked and sounded upset. She was standing in the door way facing away from the door. "Oh poor Avery. He didn't feel the same? It's okay, now you can finally get over him. You poor thing." I saw a short red head hugging her. By red head, I mean her hair was actually red. It was cute, I guess, but kind of weird. "No, he remembered me! And he does feel the same! And you're coming with us to a party a few doors down! Come on!" "No way!" "Yes way! Lets go!" Avery pulled her out of the house. "Hope, this is-" "Logan? You must be Logan I have heard so much about the sixth grade you." I laughed. "I'm sure you have. Ave, be prepared to hear that a lot when we get inside the party too." She laughed. I whispered to her, "Here, let me wipe your tears for you." I wiped her face and put her hair behind her ears. She smiled. "Well aren't you just a romantic." Hope said laughing. "Just wait until you meet my buddy Carlos." "You'll love him." Avery added. We walked down to the house and knocked on the door.
