A/N: This is a screenplay, so the chapters will be shorter and less detailed. Screenplays have a different format than regular novels, so I will be posting with a few scenes at a time. Typically, each page should be about a minute. Think of this as a movie script. Enjoy!
SCENE ONE:
FADE IN:
EXT. DEVON SCHOOL FOR TROUBLED TEENS - DAY
EVA WAREN, a teen girl in a wheelchair with a solemn expression, and her father, CHANCE WAREN, a man in his forties with wire-rimmed glasses and a matching expression are on the lawn of Devon School for Troubled Teens, as the sign behind them says. The grass is withered and yellow and the building before them is grey and dull. You can visibly see sweat on both of their foreheads.
CHANCE:
It's for your own good, Eva.
EVA:
I didn't do anything wrong.
I don't understand, Dad.
CHANCE stays silent and pushes her to the front doors, holding Eva's suitcase. EVA wipes away a stray tear as they enter the building.
SCENE TWO:
INT. DEVON SCHOOL - CONTINUOUS
The PRINCIPAL, a woman with a condescending look greets them.
PRINCIPAL:
(forcing a smile)
We've been expecting you,
Miss Waren. Jamon, will
You take her around the school?
JAMON BIRD, a black teen with curly hair, fashionable clothes and a mischievous smile looks up from his cellphone (most likely an android)
JAMON:
Hey.
PRINCIPAL:
I'll be talking to your father, Eva.
Go have a look around with Jamon.
EVA glances up at her father, then wheels herself out of the room, JAMON following behind, chatting to her. Cut to CHANCE WAREN, with an expression that could be either sympathy or guilt.
