SCENE THIRTY SEVEN

INT. MATH CLASSROOM - DAY

It is like always, except totally different. EVA greets JAMON as he sits down next to her. Across the room, KYLE gives him two thumbs-up. HUNTER, wearing glasses and typical 'nerdy' clothing, walks up to JAMON. JAMON turns and sees that it is HUNTER. He does a double-take and glances at EVA. She shrugs and he turns back to HUNTER and decides to play it cool.

HUNTER:

Hi, uhm... what's your

Name?

JAMON:

My name is Jamon.

HUNTER:

Okay J-Man. I'm

Hunter.

JAMON:

Please don't ever call

Me that again.

There is an awkward silence.

HUNTER:

I'm um... new here. Can

You help me find a seat?

JAMON:

I don't know if there

Are any open spots...

We see the room from his POV. The camera scans the room, focusing on an empty seat right near him, and then one a few rows away. Camera goes back to INTERCUT between the two as they speak.

JAMON:

(points to spot at

Ar side of the room)

There's one over there

If you want to take it.

HUNTER:

(smiles as he did to EVA

When she was going to the

courtyard) Thank you.

JAMON:

No problem.

As soon as HUNTER walked away, JAMON turned to EVA and they speak with hissisng whispers.

JAMON:

What are we supposed to do?

EVA:

I don't know! Act normal, I

Guess.

JAMON glances over at HUNTER, but he is listening intently to the teacher.

SCENE THIRTY EIGHT

EXT. DEVON SCHOOL - DAY

We see a wide view of the front of the school. Students are sitting around in groups and alone. INTO VIEW: JAMON, VEGAS, EVA, and KYLE sit outside on the grass in front of the school, looking slightly better than it did when EVA came. ZOOM IN: On their little circle.

VEGAS:

You told him?!

JAMON:

He's my best friend,

Why wouldn't I tell

Him?

EVA gives VEGAS a pointed look. VEGAS looks away uncomfortably.

VEGAS:
