SCENE SIX:
CUT TO:
INT. DEVON HALLWAY - EVENING
JAMON is talking to KYLE JOHNSON, a traditional all-American boy who has somehow managed to keep a balance between schoolwork, girls, and a social life.
KYLE:
Seriously, you don't think this
Is even a bit strange? We haven't
Had this many people come to Devon
Since you got here.
JAMON:
Not everything is a conspiracy
Theory. You think too much.
KYLE:
And you feel too much. We
Balance each other out. (BEAT) So,
Since the subject came up,
Have you seen anyone... interesting?
(wiggles eyebrows)
JAMON:
(sighs) Looking for a date, Kyle?
You have about fifty admirers already.
KYLE:
And here comes one now!
Motions to EVA and VEGAS who are making their way to the cafeteria. EVA passes them without a second glance, but VEGAS stops. Camera INTERCUTS between them as they speak.
VEGAS:
What are you doing here?
JAMON:
Well, we go to this school, don't we?
Now, can you please move, I have a
Queue forming behind you already.
VEGAS glances behind her. The camera FOCUSES on the empty hall behind her. Clearly flustered, she whips her head back to the two, opens her mouth to say something, then runs off after EVA.
KYLE:
Two girls in one day? That
May be a record for you.
JAMON:
I do my best.
SCENE SEVEN:
FADE TO:
INT. CAFETERIA - EVENING.
The camera goes around the lunchroom, giving the viewers a chance to see the whole thing, then focuses on VEGAS and EVA sitting at the end of a table. The whole table silent except for a few whispers here and there. JAMON comes behind VEGAS and taps her on the shoulder. VEGAS turns around, hitting JAMON in the face with her hair.
JAMON:
Excuse me, sweetheart, but
Those are our seats.
VEGAS:
Oh really? I don't see your
Name on them.
JAMON:
Really, you should probably go.
VEGAS:
Why? Because some idiots like you
'Claimed' these?
JAMON:
Exactly, sweetheart. Now, if you'll
Excuse me...
EVA:
(turning to VEGAS)We should leave.
VEGAS:
No! I'm not leaving here
Because he said to!
The two girls continue to eat uncomfortably as the table around them stares. Camera CUTS TO JAMON, who breaks out into a grin.
