A week after the initial proposal, I finally decided that Fitzwilliam and I needed to announce our engagement before something bad happened to one of us. I suggested this to him and he said he had already asked my father for my hand in marriage so all he had to do was propose publicly. Then he came up with an idea whilst our last days were spent at Pemberly.

While sitting in the dining hall at Pemberly the next evening, the night was perfect as the sun set behind me. I sat with Annabelle and Cedric who both looked as brace as they could be after last week's traumatic event. As the night went on and dessert was in the process of being placed on the table, I was speaking to Annabelle about what I had planned for us to do once we were back at Lady Catherine's estate, when someone at the table stood up and asked for silence by tapping their wine glass with a knife. I looked up and saw that it was Fitzwilliam and I instantly smiled upon knowing what we had already planned for him to do and say. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen" Fitzwilliam said to the room as the servants continued silently serving us.

I felt Annabelle grasp my hand on my lap and I squeezed it with a smile in her direction. "Don't be nervous" She whispered into my ear.

"Its not me you have to worry about, it's him" I replied quietly before I earned a kick under the table from the person across the table from me. "Ow!" I mouthed to my mother across from me before returned my gaze to Fitzwilliam.

"I have an announcement to make" Fitzwilliam began and cleared his throat. "My father and I thank you for your attention and for staying with us so long while my aunt's estate is upgraded" He said. "I am a man of two hearts; one of which is the house for which we live and the other is of a woman sitting at this very table" He looked right at me and my heart stopped. From where he stood at the table, he came and stood beside my chair and offered me his hand. I took it and stood up with him and we were standing at the side of the table knowing what would happen next. "Miss Baasch..." He started and swallowed nervously. I squeezed his hands gently and he returned my movement. "After knowing you for quite some years I have decided that you are the rightful owner of that second piece of my heart. I would like you to keep it safe for as long as you can and don't ever leave me" He said to me and earned a few chuckles from everyone. I laughed as well and then he made his move and got down on one knee.

I gasped with excitement which was opposite to what everyone else was thinking as they gasped with shock and started whispering and exchanging little cheerful laughs with each other while Fitz searched his pockets for the ring he'd given me a week ago.

"You are the love of my life, miss Baasch. So I ask you now..." Fitzwilliam finally said as he raised the gold ring with the small pearl in the centre up and offered it to me. "Would you do me the great great honour of taking me for your husband?" He asked me.

I beamed with happiness and covered my mouth momentarily with my free hand before nodding my head. "Yes" I said and the room erupted in cheers and woahs.

Fitzwilliam stood up and kissed me on the lips. They were short and tender kisses which meant a lot considering we were now officially engaged and when our lips finally parted, Fitzwilliam slid the ring onto my finger and I marvelled at it again. I kissed him once more before the men came over to congratulate Darcy, and the women came screaming over to me. My mother came and hugged me as tightly as she possibly could before letting go and looking at the ring. "Oh, its lovely, darling" She said to me while Annabelle hugged me. "Congratulations, Eve" The women all said at one point.

It took hours for Fitzwilliam and I to stop being congratulated and could finally have some moments to ourselves. We found our way to his chambers and immediately I began kissing his lips. I tore his sword from his hip and tossed it across the floor all the time keeping my lips connected with Fitzwilliam's. He chuckled against my lips as I felt his hands snake down my neck and over my breasts which he squeezed hungrily. The back of my legs touched the desk and I fell backwards onto it, dragging him down with me. I was separated from him for a moment and he admired my body as I lay on the table with my legs wrapped around his waist. "I am so glad I am marrying you, Eve" Fitz said softly to me while moving his face closer to mine.

"As am I, Mr Darcy" I replied and pushed his leather jacket off his shoulders as he started kissing my neck and biting my skin every now and then.

Suddenly there was a knock at the door and I gasped. Fitz threw himself away from me and I stood up from where I was at the table's end. "Yes?" My fiancée said to the intruder at the door. The door creaked open and Cedric popped his head around to look into the room. "Cedric. What is it man, we are busy here discussing our wedding" Fitz said with a glance and a wink behind him at me.

"Sorry to interrupt, but we're going back to Rosings tonight" Cedric told us with a nervous look on his face.

"Why? What's happened?" I asked him and stepped past Fitz and closer to my sister's lover.

"Nothing to be alarmed about. It's just that a hoard of zombies are due to pass Pemberly at dawn and we mean to leave for security at Rosings" Cedric replied.

"But, surely we are safe here" I said in disbelief.

"I'm afraid not" Fitz said into the air and came to stand next to me. "We reviewed the lasted reinforcements at Rosings today and confirmed it is the safest place in England. Please, Eve..." He took my hands and looked deep into my eyes. "Pack your things and have you and your sister ready to leave by 11 o'clock this evening" Fitz was sincere so I didn't want to argue.

"Alright. But you will be with me for the entire trip back" I told him and pointed my finger at his face as I used to show him I was serious. He nodded with a smile and kissed my lips before we let go of each other and I hurried out of the room toward my own.
