I closed the door behind me and put my ear to it to listen as Wickham walked away and I didn't move until I was certain his footsteps were all gone. The entire front of my body was against the cold wood of the door which made me nice and cool in the heat of the summer evening. To finally be on my own was something I use to enjoy at Pemberly, but my thoughts trailed off to my secret fiancée. "Good evening, my love" I heard Fitzwilliam suddenly say right behind me. He made me jump and I almost screamed if not for his hand covering my mouth.

I breathed heavily in shock as I turned around and faced him, our noses barely touching.  "You startled me" I said softly with a small chuckle and put my arms around his neck, happy to be so close to him again.

"I'm sorry, my darling. Would you like me to calm your nerves for you?" He whispered before planting a sweet kiss on my lips before moving down to my jaw and neck. To tease him like he always used to, I pushed my thigh up the side of his leg and he instinctively grabbed my thigh as I wrapped my foot around his leg and tore open his waistcoat. He continued placing lingering kisses on my lips while moving his hands around my body in places like the back of my neck and the small of my back. I felt him undo the back of my dress with the hand which wasn't holding my leg and slowly slip his hand under the material against my skin, making me arch my back and push my body close to his. I unbuttoned his shirt as fast as I could as our tongues started sword fighting in and out of our mouths, battling for dominance.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door right behind me and I almost chocked on Fitzwilliam's tongue in my mouth upon the sudden noise. "Who is it?" I asked, as Fitzwilliam moved his lips to my neck and started kissing and sucking on the exposed skin there.

"Eve? It's me" My sister said and made both Fitz and I freeze and look at each other.

"Just a minute. Don't come in yet" I said back to my sister as I pushed Fitzwilliam off me and pointed to the other side of the bed. "Hide over there!" I whispered to him, making him sigh as he backed away from me.

"I just wanted to know if you were alright" Annabelle said clueless of what I was doing on the other side of the door. "You left without saying much and mother and I were a little worried"

"I'm fine" I replied and signalled for Fitzwilliam to duck beneath the bed so Annabelle wouldn't see him. But he almost ran back to me and kissed my lips twice more before silently rushing straight past the bed and toward the secret door behind the tapestry on the other side of the bedroom. He blew me a kiss goodbye before disappearing and I opened the door, letting my sister see into the room. "All is well, dear Annabelle" I told my sister and toyed with the pins that kept my hair up. My back was fully exposed and my dress was only being kept up by the thin straps on my shoulders.

The door clicked shut behind me as Annabelle entered the room and made moderately loud footsteps across the wooden floor and rugs to her bed in the corner by the window. "I have something to tell you, Eve" Annabelle spoke up as my hair came down.

I stopped and looked up to her, a serious look in my eye. "What is it?" I asked, staring at her with wide and expectant eyes. She sat down at the chair beside her desk and checked her figure in the mirror.

"Don't you mean who?" She replied as she turned to face me with all her body and placed her hands over her stomach. He face was a glowing picture and see looked on the verge of tears.

It took me a while to respond as my legs numbly carried me across the room to where my baby sister was sitting with a baby sitting in her. "You are having a child?" I questioned as I kneeled in front of her and put my hand on her legs. She nodded in response with a gleeful smile. "But you and Cedric are not yet married" I said.

"I know. Promise to me that you will not tell a soul until after my wedding, please Eve" Annabelle's expression suddenly turned serious.

I stumbled to think for a second. How could I keep this a secret from mother and father? I couldn't do it by myself. "I promise, Annabelle. But only if you promise to keep my secret" I said and gave her something to guess about.

"What is it?" She questioned, then reached her hand forward to point at my stomach. "Are you-" She began, but I stopped her.

I shook my head and presented my left hand with an empty ring finger. "I am engaged to a gentleman" I said and smiled magically.

Annabelle gasped with excitement as he eyes grew wide. "To Fitzwilliam Darcy or Mr Wickham?" She questioned.

"I would not marry Mr Wickham, I barely know the man. And father had probably barely heard of him before, I certainly hadn't before today" I replied and got up to walk back over to my dresser. I took off my jewellery and put them into their appropriate boxes while trying to keep my dress from falling down.

"So it is to Mr Darcy then?" Annabelle suggested, remaining seated.

"Yes. But you cannot tell anyone yet. We plan to make an event of it soon" I told her and rushed over to kneel by her again.

She rapidly shook her head and took my hand. "Of course, Eve. I will. I won't even tell Cedric" She said and kissed my hand.

I smiled and said, "And I won't tell Fitzwilliam of your situation. But I will speak to father in the morning and arrange to have the wedding moved closer to the day. Hopefully you won't be showing much by then"
