I was up bright and early the following morning to see off my sister and Cedric as they drove away in the carriage to the cottage where Fitz and I went for our honeymoon, although they weren't planning on staying there for long as Annabelle had some friends over at Longbourne House who were planning of having children soon. I believe their names were Bennet or something like that. They sounded frightful nice and I made a point that they should be invited over for tea one evening, and so Annabelle said she would pass on my invitation.

At about noon, I was sitting in the parlour room stitching up one of Fitz' socks when I heard a sudden crash from a room nearby. It didn't shock me, but it gave my baby a fright. My first thought was that it was someone dropping something, but then my mind dove deeper and I started worrying. Slowly, I got up from my chair and steadied myself, listening to the sounds of the house and the room next door. There was a pistol in every room in the house and a knife in my stockings, which I quickly unsheathed and held in front of me as I went to search for the pistol which i knew was attached to the underside of the table beside the door. And I saw stood beside the door when the sound of heavy footsteps started coming from the other side of the wall as well as noises familiar of that of a zombie. I tried to remain as silent as I could as I moved myself into the gap between the table and the sofa, where I crouched as low as I could as watched the doorway beneath the table. One, two, three footsteps later and the zombie was standing in the open doorway, its shoes were that of a guard.

I tried to remain calm as the zombie guardsman trudged his feet away from the doorway and wondered into the room with his back to me. Slowly and silently, I rose from my hidden position as my heartbeat increased and I longed for someone to appear at the door and save me so I could save my baby. I managed to bravely placed my hand on the door knob with my other holding the pistol and I aimed it at the back of the zombie's head, keeping both eyes open as I prepared to fire. My finger hovered on the trigger as I took a step backwards and accidentally stood on a creaky floorboard and the zombie suddenly turned around and faced me, it's eyes a dark black colour and its face torn half off. It looked sympathetically at me and opened its jaw to speak as I moved my finger down to pull the trigger. "Don't. Please don't. I don't want to die yet--" The zombie said to me and reached out its hand to me, but didn't step forward as he could see that I was frightened. It's eyes cast down to my stomach and stared at it for a second before making a conclusion. "Baby?" It questioned with a smile crossing its horrid looking face. I stopped moving my finger and considered putting the gun down, but I kept it and the zombie in my eyeline. "I didn't know the smell of your blood was the smell of--" It stopped talking and took a deep breath in as I felt myself lose control of my bladder and the liquid drained down my legs and onto the floor by my feet.

I shot as best I could at the zombie and pulled the door closed as fast as I could, locking it with the key that was already in the door as I heard the creature scream from within the room, it's body lunging at the locked door. "HELP!" I screamed, half in terror and half in pain. "HELP ME!!!" I screamed for longer and louder as I started crying, standing with my back against the wall as I continued to leak from my bladder. My baby was on the way.

From the other end of the long and wide anti chamber connecting half a dozen rooms to this one, a group of men and some women emerged from the doorway carrying shotguns and rifles and knives, all which could have been useful about five minutes ago. "Mrs Darcy? What's the matter?" A footman asked me , looking me up and down and seeing that I was standing in a pool of water, was crying and was holding a knife and a pistol, he made a quick assumption. "Summon the younger--" The footman began to say, but was interrupted.

"Eve?!" I heard Fitz shout from the other door and then take off running toward me.

"Fitz--" I began trying to say.

"What happened? Are you hurt?" He asked me hurriedly.

"No. But there's an infected guard in there" I told my husband and pointed to the locked door. The crowd gasped and Fitz' expression turned sour as he heard my words, then he drew his sword and saw the water trail on the floor. His eyes followed it back to me and they lit up as he realised what was happening to me. We shared a knowing smile and my husband winked at me, before giving me a short kiss. "I'll be in our room when you're ready" I told him. "Take me to my rooms, please" I said to a footman.

"Yes, ma'am" The footman mumbled as he approached me and gently picked me up bridal style. He then proceeded to carry me out of the anti chamber and toward the staircase. "Send for the midwife" The footman ordered to a servant walking beside him, to which the servant then took off walking faster than the footman and into another corridor.

This was happening. I was about to have a baby while my husband slaughtered the undead. How poetic.
