During the next few days, I was ready with my plan to protect my fiancée but he would always be messing around with Cedric whenever I needed to speak to him. The two were like inseparable brothers and I admired that relationship and enjoyed watching the two fool around like children. By the end of the week, I had almost given up on trying to convince Fitzwilliam that we should move away from Rosings and develop our own estate at Pemberly, but whenever I brought up the subject, he would only ask why and to that, I couldn't give an answer that could convince him enough.

I was sitting in one of the drawing rooms with mother, Lady Catherine and Annabelle whilst the sun was preparing to set outside the windows of the house. Suddenly, the younger Mr Darcy was announced into the room and I almost dropped my needle work into my finger. He came and sat beside me on one of the sofas in the room and watched me for a second as I threaded the needle into my piece of cloth and continued making the floral pattern I had designed an hour previously, but he made me nervous when he watched me so I stopped and looked at his handsome face. "May I help you, Mr Darcy?" I asked formally, which made most women in the room giggle a little.

"Yes, my dear Miss Eve. I do believe you can" He replied with a raised eyebrow as he looked at my face while we spoke. "I have spoke with your mother..." he paused. "and your father..." he paused again. "and your sister. And they have all agreed that you are too impatient to wait to be married to me"

A quick look of astonishment crossed my face and I shot a sideways glance at my sister who was watching and listening. "Fitz-" I began to say, but he interrupted me.

"Eve darling, if you would like you be married to me before the sun goes down completely tonight, then find a white dress and meet me in the gardens where we will be wed" He said seriously as my mouth dropped and my eyes widened. This was part of my plan: marrying him.

I took a deep breath and squeezed his hands excitedly, to which he mirrored as we could tell the other was screaming to burst inside. "Alright" I replied simply and looked over to Annabelle, mother and Lady Catherine who all had huge grins on their faces. "Excuse me, ladies" I said calmly before I stood up with Fitzwilliam and his kissed my hand. I left the room with him and bit my lip with excitement as I wanted to burst with the adrenaline that I suddenly had. "See you in a little while" I told Fitz before I walked at a quick pace toward the staircase where my room awaited me.

In my head I had the perfect white dress in mind that I knew I wanted to wear when I married Fitzwilliam and I could finally wear it. I was so excited that I could hardly breathe. I took it out of the hiding place I had kept it for all this time and began taking off the dress I was already wearing when a knock at the door echoed through my room and I heard a male voice call my name from the other side. "Eve?" I heard Wickham's voice call and I froze, half naked with only my underwear to conceal my skin.

"Do not come in!" I yelled back to the closed door before I turned around and strolled over to it.

"Are you alright? I heard you running up the stairs" He said and turned the doorknob to open it. But I threw myself against the door to keep it shut and turned the key in the keyhole to lock it and keep my privacy. "Are you okay, Eve? Talk to me" He sounded concerned.

"I'm fine, Mr Wickham. Thank you" I said as I made my way back over to where I kept my clothes in my room. I placed the key on my desk and continued to undress so I could redress myself in my wedding dress.

"Alright, let me know if you need anything" He said.

"Thank you" I responded over my shoulder.

"It may be something simple like a hand doing up the back of that dress" Asshole. I froze and breathed out slowly as I realised that he must have been looking through the keyhole in the door. I suddenly felt like there were a hundred eyes around me and I wasn't safe inside my bubble anymore. I felt myself getting hot so I moved to the window and pulled the dress over my shoulders so I was covered respectably as I lifted my hair off my neck and breathed for a couple of seconds. For that little moment, everything was fine.

And then that moment ended as Wickham knocked on the door again. "Eve, let me help you" He said.

I gasped as the knocking made me jump and I fell over on my way back to the desk where the key was. But I reached up and got it off the table, then threw it across the floor and watched it disappear beneath the door as I got back to my feet and moved back to the mirror. The door unlocked from the outside by Wickham's hand and his boots made echoes on the floor as he crossed the room and came to stand behind me. "Can you help me with my dress please?" I asked him nicely and moved my  long blonde hair off my back and onto one of my shoulders so the back of the dress could be done up.

"Of course" Wickham replied as I refused to make eye contact with him in the mirror. He placed the key down and began with the bottom of the dress where his cold fingers began with the lacing. I stood with my hands on my hips nervously as I thought about what I could say in my vows to Fitz. "Where will you go after you are married?" I heard him ask as he made his way slowly up the back of the dress.

"Honestly, I don't know" I replied as I still didn't make eye contact with him. "I would hope to go somewhere lovely and special, but I believe that as long as I have Fitz, I will need nothing else" I told him and he paused.

"Strong words" Wickham said as i felt the dress fully fit to my body and become a part of me. Now was the time to be married.
