I began to grow more worried about this Denver place. But I didn't say anything because I knew this was Willow's idea. We marched across the desert a small ways to get to one of the large entrances to the city.

"Hello please stop right there." A voice boomed over head. All of us stopped right in our tracks, afraid of who spoke. "Step over to the right wall." As all of us turned to look at the wall, a square block out of the cement swiveled it reveal something that looked like an ATM.

"Please put your face up to the respected opening. This will tell us if you are infected with the flare." A pause in the speech made us look around to each other with fear. "If you are infected with the flare you will not be coming into the city." And with that the voice left us to see who had the flare and who didn't. Minho went first, putting his face close to the contraption and looking into what looked like binoculars. A green light flashed across the top of the wall. To the right of the swiveling door a piece of cement slid away from the other side. Minho looked back at us with eyebrows raised. He turned back around to step through the door. Thomas stepped forward to see if he could slip through right behind Minho. As fast as the door swung open it slammed back in place faster than thought possible for a cement door. Thomas and Newt went next. Newt managed to slip through with Thomas, which surprised me. I was up next. I stepped up to the wall and put my face next to what would tell me if I had the flare. I looked up hopefully at the light that should turn green, opening the door to the city. I was able to slip through the door with the green light illuminating the people I left behind.
