"Flight 35 to New York gate 23 is now ready for boarding" this is it. Tami gripped my hand. I got up still holding onto her hand and my bag in the other. We headed to the gate with my ticket in had. She stayed beside me the whole time.
We hugged as we got to the ramp. She hugged everyone else already in tears as were the rest of us.
"I'll miss you" I whispered as I pulled her into my arms. she started to shake. I rubbed her back and hugged her tightly. I don't want to let her go!
"I'll miss you too" she gripped me tightly her voice cracking.
"C'mon mate, we've got to go." I nodded and let go. I kissed her on the forehead and started walking down the ramp looking back at her.
I made it to the beginning of the tunnel.
It's now or never.
I ran back up the ramp to see Tami still there. She hasn't moved. Tears still streaming down her face.
I ran up to her and picked her up. I hugged her tightly.
I kissed her.
"I love you" I rested my forehead on hers tears running down both our faces.
"I love you too"
