The whole of the blue team was together ready for the race to start.
Clarke was worrying that she'd be the first to get out and let the team down. Or let Bellamy down.
Bellamy was stood with Murphy talking, but every now and then he would look over at Clarke.
Wells stood holding a loud speaker, "please remember shots will not count untill the alarm sounds for five minutes, from then onwards you can shoot." He passed the mega phone over to his dad.
"On your marks!" Jaha shouted over the loud speaker.
"Get set!"
"Go!"
Bellamy set off first, leading the blue team, they jogged slowly along a narrow path. The path took them a little way off track, but Murphy and Bellamy had been in the winning group last year, so the others trusted them.
"How long have we got?" Bellamy asked Murphy.
"Two minutes until shooting starts," he told Bellamy.
"Right let's speed up a little bit."
The two of them were going by the tactic that had allowed them to win last year. They were going fast at the beginning, traveling a long distance before the shooting started. When the shooting started, they would slow down and have their wits about them.
"Can we slow down?" Harper panted from the back of the group.
"We will in a minute," Bellamy responded.
The horn sounded.
Bellamy and Murphy stopped running, and so did the rest of the group. Clarke didn't realise in time and bumped into Bellamy.
"Sorry," she apologised quietly, taking the hint from Bellamy and Murphy as they were being so quiet.
Bellamy turned to her and smiled, letting her know that it didn't matter.
"Right, let's go," ordered Murphy quietly, his gun ready.
They walked slowly and Clarke got her gun ready too, holding it how Bellamy had shown her.
Murphy out his hand up, indicating for them to stop.
Clarke couldn't see why they had stopped, she looked through the trees but couldn't see anything.
Then someone moved.
One gun shot was heard, and then a rapid fire.
Clarke shot into the trees a few times, joining the rest of her group. But she didn't want to acidentally shot someone on her team.
The shooting stopped and they saw the entire yellow team stood before them, all covered in blue paint.
Slowly they trapped of out of the woods dragging their guns behind them.
Bellamy smiled happily, and he and Murphy exchanged a highfive.
The whole group laughed and hugged, pleased at their first success. Then Monty broke the silence.
"Guys," he said holding his shirt.
The bottom right of his top had a large yellow splodge of paint.
He looked up at the group, disappointed with himself and then walked off.
