Camp Arkadia (The 100)

Chapter 10

It had been two days since the Mount Weather race and Clarke was looking forward to the disco that night.

"Which one?" Octavia asked Clarke holding up two dresses.

"Err.. The blue one," she decided.

Octavia put on the electric blue dress and twirled in front of the mirror.

"Should I curl my hair or keep it natural?" Octavia asked.

"Octavia we've still got 4 hours till the disco."

"I know... which is plenty of time for someone to ask you to the disco."

"Is that a thing people do here, I thought people were just going with friends?" Clarke asked.

"Yeah, and especially for the first disco," Octavia told her looking at the different options she had for shoes.

"Who are you going with?"

"Lincoln," Octavia answered.

"Raven are you going with anyone," Clarke asked Raven who was listening to music.

"To the disco, yeah with Wick," Raven put her headphones back on.

"Great that just leaves me," Clarke said to herself irritated.

"So Bellamy are you taking your princess to the disco?" Murphy asked, annoying his friend.

"Shut up Murphy," Bellamy responded.

"Oh touched a nerve there, did I," he mocked his friend.

"Bellamy," Wells called entering the cabin.

"Yeah."

"Are you taking anyone to the disco," he asked.

"Not yet why?" Bellamy asked.

"Because my dad wants me and you to have dates to the disco as he thinks it will look good," Wells explained.

"That's stupid," Murphy butted in.

"I know, but I thought I'd let you know," he said to Bellamy.

"Okay thanks Wells," Bellamy said as Wells left the cabin.

                            ***

"Come on we're going," Octavia said to Clarke.

"Where?" Clarke asked.

"To the main square of course, someone is bound to ask you to the disco."

"Do we have to go," Clarke protested.

"Yes, come on," Octavia dragged Clarke out of the cabin and the two of them walked to the main square.

Clarke and Octavia arrived at the square, everyone was milling around and were more excitable than normal.

"Hey guys guess what?" Harper came over to them.

"What is it?" they both asked.

"Monty asked me to the disco," Harper told them.

"Ah that's great," Octavia congratulated.

But Clarke had zoned out, she had seen Bellamy enter the office and couldn't stop thinking about him. They hadn’t spoken since she'd kissed him on the check after they had won the Mount Weather race.

"I'll be back in a minute," Clarke told Octavia and Harper as she walked towards the camp office.

Once in the office she saw Bellamy bent over a desk scribbling something down on a note pad, his back to her.

Clarke walked over to the notice board and looked to see if there was any post for her. There was her name was put on the list yesterday.

"Oh hi Clarke can I do anything for you?" Bellamy asked her.

"Yes you can take me to the disco," she thought to herself.

"Could you get me my post out of the safe please?"

"Yes of course," he responded opening the safe and flicking through the post hunting for hers.

A few minutes later Bellamy handed Clarke a post card. Clarke took it their fingers brushing and they held eye contact for a few minutes.

"Ah Bellamy, there you are," Jaha said breaking the awkwardness.

Bellamy and Clarke broke eye contact and Clarke averted her eyes to the postcard.

"Bellamy I trust you're taking someone to the disco?" Jaha asked him.

"Yes," Bellamy responded.

Clarke's heart immediately sunk, but she tried to hide it, pretending that she wasn't listening in on their conversation.

"Great, who is it?" Jaha questioned Bellamy further.

"What, why do you need to know?" Bellamy thought to himself. What was he supposed to say he hadn't asked anyone yet.

Clarke quickly looked up from her post card to Bellamy.

"Clarke," Bellamy told Jaha.

"Ah great," Jaha walked out of the office and patted the two of them in the shoulder.
