July 2001:

I've been slowly falling into a deep depression. I'm four months pregnant, and our son won't be able to know who his father is. I've been crying non-stop, which isn't good for the baby. Also, I've been in and out the possible for the past week.

My sisters have been stopping by; Tamar and Traci, slept over for two days with me, making sure I was good, and keeping me company. Mommy came over with her famous biscuits, which always put me in a good mood. My best friend, and confidant, Aaliyah was stopping over soon.

"We're gonna get going now, we love you." Traci said. They gave me the biggest hug, making shed a few tears. I am so grateful for my family, especially my sisters.

Within the next hour, Aaliyah came by, bearing a gifts in hand. Keri loved Aaliyah so much, he wanted her to become a godmother, to our unborn son.

"Hey girl, how you feeling?" Aaliyah asked. She took off her shoes, and jumped in the bed with me. Her friendship means everything to me, and I know she cares for me.

"I'm a little sadden, but I hope I'll be good." I said, putting on a fake smile. She knew that I was pretending, so I couldn't help but tear up.

"You don't have to be strong for me, go ahead and cry; it's good for you. I want you to cry happy tears because I'm taking you to the Bahamas with me. I'm filming a music video, 'Rock the Boat', and I know you could use a vacation. Plus, this is a little celebration for my album dropping and becoming platinum, twice." Aaliyah smiled.

"I don't know, A. I don't want to be a burden on your trip, because I'm not happy right now. I'll have to see." I shrugged. She took out two plane tickets out of her Chanel purse, with one of them having my name on it.

"Girl, you're crazy. Do you really think I'm going to the Bahamas with you?" I laughed. Aaliyah rolled her eyes, making me laugh even more.

"Yes, and it's because you love me so much. I also think my godson could use a vacation." Aaliyah said, rubbing my stomach.

"Fine, I'll go. When do we leave?" I asked. She looked on the flight's itinerary for the information.

"August 21st, because the next day is filming. All I know is that you'll enjoy yourself, and maybe you'll find a man." Aaliyah smiled, nudging me in my arm, with her elbow.

"Remind me again, why we're friends." I laughed.

"Because you love me." Aaliyah said, kissing my cheek. I wiped her kiss, and she planted  more kisses on my cheek, which I continued to wipe off.
