September 2001:

It's been weeks since Aaliyah's funeral, and also 9/11 occurred. It really saddened me; all those lives lost, and damage done. Trina called me, asking to spend time with me, and of course I said yes. I love my sisters, and I'll do anything for them.

Trina was the sister, that rarely got into any trouble. She was always reading books, and studying. She was an A-student, which made me happy. She got accepted to Howard, Spelman, even Yale. She decided to come on tour with me, singing background, so she never got the opportunity to study Psychology.

"Hey Tone," Trina smiled. "Hey nephew." She continued rubbing my stomach.

"I feel like everyone is coming to see me, just for the baby." I laughed.

"Well, yeah..I just can't believe you're going to be a mother. So exciting." Trina said. Trina has a five year old son, Eric.

"Speaking of babies, when are you having another one?" I asked. Trina played with her fingers, moving them in a circular motion.

"I can't have anymore, but it's okay." Trina said. I know she's hurt, and she's lying. Not being able to conceive makes a woman, feel less.

"Trina, it's okay. You don't have to lie, I'm your sister." I said. She looked down and I saw her jeans fall on her lap.

"I really want a baby." Trina said. First Tamar, now Trina will fertility issues; what makes it worse is that I'll be in my third trimester, really soon.

"How long did you find out about this?" I asked, pulling her into me. She laid her head on my lap.

"About two years ago," Trina said. I feel for her, terribly. "I just never wanted to say anything because I thought Peter and I could handle this, alone." She added.

"Well, you have family. A brother, four sisters, a mom and dad. I'm always here for you, Trina. Our family may be in shambles, but whatever happens to anyone, we set aside our issues and come together." I said.

Trina nodded, and hugged me. "Thanks Toni, you're the best." Trina responded.
