August 2001:
Today is our final day, and I'm pretty saddened. These days have flown by quickly, and I'm gonna miss it. Aaliyah packed her things last night, and I decided to pack this morning. Aaliyah decided to take a small Cessna plane, that holds eight people.
"Alright kid, I'm leaving now." Aaliyah said, kissing my cheek and stomach.
"I'll see you soon, love you." I said hugging her. She waved, and wheeled out her suitcase, and left. I saw the whole crew who was leaving a day earlier, since they were done shooting.

I've been in LA for three hours now, and I've been sleeping like a dog. I woke up to the news, and saw Aaliyah."Breaking news. 22-year old singer, Aaliyah has been killed in a plane crash, along with eight other people." The news anchor said.
I screamed so loud, I'm pretty sure everyone in America heard me. I could not believe my best friend is dead. That's the feeling, I've been hit with for weeks now.
Seeing little clips of Aaliyah makes everything worse. I received a call from Tamar, and I couldn't speak. I need to be alone, and God knows I need my space.
First, I lost my husband, and now my best friend. I'm so heartbroken and in complete shock right now. I just saw her this morning, telling her that I loved her, and now she's gone forever.
My heart is hurting for her family, especially Missy Elliot, Timbaland, and Damon. Her whole contained us all, and her fans. I can't believe my son, won't know who his godmother is. She was so excited for me and having this baby.
Some idiot rang my doorbell, furiously. I went down the stairs and opened the door, to see my brother, Damon, with blood shot eyes. We couldn't even speak, so we just decided to cry together. He collapsed while crying in my arms.
"Why.." Damon said, repeatedly as the tears wouldn't stop. My heart was aching for him. Aaliyah couldn't experience marriage or motherhood. The front door was opened, and everyone was here. My whole family, Missy, Timbaland, Jay, Ginuwine, Aaliyah's best friend, Kidada, DMX, Busta and Diddy, all came by.
At this very moment, these people aren't even friends of mine; we're family. Everyone was so emotional, and I couldn't wrap my finger, around the fact that my princess and best friend is gone, for good.
My house was like Aaliyah's home too. She had a special room, and had a table filled with pictures of her and our friends.
As time was progressing in the day, the atmosphere got even worse.
Our schedules were officially cleared; we are now here together as a family, and nothing will change. Tamar took it pretty hard. They were in the same age group, and with Aaliyah being around us, Tamar felt as if she were no longer the baby, of our family.
"She's really gone, Toni." Tamar said, laying her head onto my lap.
