Paisley Rae's Perspective

I woke up determined to get a perfect score during my evaluations. I wanted to be seen as fearsome so no tribute would dare to challenge me. During training the day before, I had shown everyone my skill with throwing knives but that girl from Seven showed off her shuriken skills.

I dressed in my training outfit and went to eat a quick breakfast. Evaluations began in an hour and I would be the first to go.

I was prepared to leave when I heard a loud snore come from Eli's room. I instinctively rolled my eyes but then I got an idea.

My eyes darted to the dining table where a sharp knife glinted. Hmm... I found a pen and piece of paper, jotted down a note, and took the knifes blade in my hand.

I stood a good distance away from the door, through the knife, and it hit Eli's door with a resounding thud. I quickly stuck the note underneath and skipped away towards the elevator.

Eli was ticked off. Ten minutes after I got downstairs for evaluations, he stormed in with the note in his hands. He was considerably late, judging by the fact nearly all the tributes but him showed up when I did.

He quickly sat down on the bench by me and held out the note. "What is this?" He hissed.

"A wake up note." I shrugged, inspecting my nails.

"Was the knife lodged through it necessary?" Eli continued.

I giggled. "How else was I going to wake you up?"

"Uh, you could knock on the door like a normal person!"

I prepared to say something's else but that's when the door to the training center hissed open and an electronic voice sounded. "Paisley Rae."

I turned back to Eli. "That's me! See ya later!"

I stood up confidently and marched into the gym. The doors hissed shut behind me and my footsteps echoed eerily in the cleared out training center. I walked towards the 'x' set out on the floor and faced the Gamemakers.

"Paisley Rae. District One." I said clearly.

The Head Gamemaker, Edward Ellis, nodded at me. "You have five minutes."

I quickly paced over to the throwing knives and rolled up a few full body targets. Once I was set up, I walked twenty yards from the targets and gripped the blades in my hand.

I took a breath and sent the knives flying. They each hit kit points of the body with a thud. When I had five knives left I threw four of them at once, each of them hitting the heart on the four targets.

"Ms. Rae, your time is up." Edward Elliot says.

I smile and as I'm walking out, I send the last knife in my hand flying behind me, hitting the furthest wall with a thud.

Daniel Carpenter's Perspective

Crystal walked out of the training center with a satisfied smile on her face. She probably diced up all the practice dummies with her preferred weapon, a sword.

When she left, the doors hissed open for me. "Daniel Carpenter." The electronic voice announced.

I got up and proudly walked into the gym and on the 'x'.

"Daniel Carpenter. District Two." I said boldly before sprinting off to find a sword and a spear.

Being that I had five minutes, I got some avoxes to help me roll the dummies out. I thanked them for their help, sent them away, and got started.
