Favonious Falcon's Perspective

As the crowd settled down from Eli's

display of affection towards Paisley, I laughed happily.

"Well, I guess that's the big detail we were looking for." I winked.

"Let's welcome our next tributes, Crystal Barrett and Daniel Carpenter!" I waved the next pair onstage and they happily strode out.

Crystal, her dark blonde hair pinned up, was wearing a big violet ball gown with black and silver jewels scattered across the midriff of the dress. Daniel wore a black suit with a violet dress shirt.

They crossed the stage over to me, shook my hand, and plopped down on the white couch opposite me.

"So, Crystal and Daniel, such an honor to have you here. How are you liking your time in the Capitol?" I asked, crossing my legs.

"It's fantastic!" Crystal cried eagerly. "There's absolutely everything here. When I win the Games and I'm old enough, I'm getting my own loft here."

"When you win!" I repeat. "Someone's

determined."

"Well, there can be four victors. Every if there couldn't, I'd be the one walking out of that arena." Crystal boasted.

Daniel rolled his eyes, as if he dealt with Crystal talking about this on a daily basis. "We'll see about that."

I chuckled. "We have some fan questions for you both if you're willing to answer a few."

"Shoot." Daniel smiled.

I dipped my hand into the glass bowl to my left and fished out a question. "To both of you: do you have any alliances formed?"

The both of them looked at each other before turning back to me. "Being that we both are Careers, we are teamed up with Paisley and Eli from One." Crystal said.

"Should've guessed that." I laughed and they chuckled along.

"Next question!" I pulled out another slip. "To Daniel: what do you want people to remember you for from the Games?"

"My fearlessness. I feel as if once I'm in the arena, I can't underestimate myself. If I doubt myself, I'll become a coward. And I want to be feared as a tribute." Daniel explained.

"Great answer." I told him.

"Are you both prepared for tomorrow?" I asked.

"I think we are. We spent every minute possible in that training center and learned as many things as possible. I wish there was a way we tributes could figure out what kind of arena we'll be in before we're in it. That way we could be even more prepared." Crystal told me.

"But for the most part," Daniel butted in. "We're prepared."

I chuckled. "We wish you both the best of luck tomorrow morning in the arena and it's been an honor to interview you both."

I stood up and they joined me. "One more time, everyone, for Crystal Barrett and Daniel Carpenter."

They cheered and the crowd cheered right back with them. As they walked off, I held back a sigh. I wasn't even a half hour into these interviews and I already will miss seeing those bright, young faces before me. Unfortunately, the next time I'll see their somewhat smiling faces will be if they win--which is unlikely--or when their image is displayed in the sky at the sound of a canon.

I blinked back my thoughts and shot a dazzling smile at the camera. Time to get back to work.
