Favonious Falcon's Perspective

"Now, settle down. Time to meet our two tributes from District Eight! They are Mandy Hemmings and DJ Fitz!" I announced.

The crowd went crazy, getting on their feet and cheering away for the two tributes that came out. The pair wore smiles and laughed and waved, like they weren't going to fight to the death the next morning. The sad thing is these tributes become such good actors in the face of the Capitol that the people can't tell whether or not they are genuinely excited to be interviewed.

Mandy wore her long dark hair up in a perfect bun, not a strand of hair out of place. She wore a short strapless wine red dress with a black ribbon belt with a red flower on it. DJ wore a black suit with a wine red dress shirt.

As the music calmed and the crowd was silenced, I greeted both of them. They had a seat and that was my cue.

"Welcome, you two." I smiled. "How are you?"

"Overwhelmed." Mandy said warmly.

The crowd laughed.

"Why is that?" I asked her.

"Well, only a few days ago we were brought here so now to be interviewed by the nations most popular interviewer, it's all happened so fast!" Mandy explained.

"I see...how are you enjoying the Capitol, DJ?" I asked the boy.

"It's different from home." DJ chuckled. "I'm used to seeing gravel roads, rundown houses, and textile factories so being in such a clean and colorful place is a nice change."

I grinned. "Let's get to some fan questions."

I pulled out a slip and slowly pulled it open.

"Don't leave us hanging in suspense!" DJ feigned passing out and the crowd laughed wildly. So he's playing the funny card.

Finally the slip was opened. "To DJ," I started and he pointed at himself in surprise and clarification. "Yes, you." I laughed. "You got an eleven in training; who do you think is your biggest threat or competition to walking out of the arena?"

A few people admired the question as DJ sat, thinking.

"Well, Favonious, the Careers seem pretty fearsome. Also that Jo girl with the shurikens. The girl from Nine, Penny, what with her long-range weapons. And that guy from Ten, Andrew. He seems pretty confident." He answered.

"That's a long list of people." I noted.

"Well, let's hope they don't all team up and try to kill me." DJ joked.

I laughed and pulled out another slip. "To Mandy: what is your preferred weapon?"

"Id have to say something small, like a dagger. That way I have something that's still pretty dangerous to defend myself with." Mandy said.

"You don't plan on fighting?" I asked.

"Oh, no. I'm gonna try and get some supplies from the Cornucopia but my main focus will to be to avoid the fighting." Mandy clarified.

"Good tactics. What about you, DJ?" I asked.

"Well, we both are in the same alliance with some great people so we're gonna go far. We're planning to divide and conquer, y'know? Half of us will take care of the fighting and stuff while the other can take care of survival. So that way everybody wins!" DJ said and Mandy nodded.

Well. Not everyone. It is the Hunger Games.

I stood. "Thank you for your time. I wish you both the best of luck in your endeavors tomorrow morning." I repeated the same line I always said after each pair of tributes. Although I meant it, it got awfully repetitive. "Mandy Hemmings and DJ Fitz!"

They walked off to the sounds of the applause and wildly cheering crowd.
