Favonious Falcon's Perspective

I sighed softly as I watched DJ and Mandy walk offstage. They seemed innocent and sweet. I couldn't process the fact that once weapons are put in their hands and a tribute is running at them, that innocence will slip away.

"How is everyone so far?" I asked the crowd, earning exuberant cheers and applause.

"Great!" I shouted. "Time to welcome out our next two tributes, Penny Williams and Colton Levi!"

They walked out calmly, their eyes widening at the size of the audience and the Capitol Cameras at the foot of the stage. Once the shock subsided, grins filled their faces.

Penny's brown hair was curled and tied in a side ponytail. Her dress started as an intricate silver bodice dotted with sequins and gems. It eventually faded into a sky blue skirt that left a small train behind her. Colton had on a silver and blue suit to match her.

"Welcome!" I said warmly.

The music died down as they sat down in front of me.

"How are you both?" I started.

"Excited to be here!" Penny smiled maliciously. Her smile caught me off guard.

"Excited for the Games tomorrow?" I asked with a laugh.

"Totally." She said simply. "My alliance and I are prepared. We're gonna win this thing, just watch."

"I love it! Well, Colton, I believe you both are part of the same alliance. Anything you'd like to share?" I asked the blond boy.

"We definitely will be a group to watch this year. We have a diverse range of weapons that'll earn us some victims if the other tributes don't keep to themselves." He explained.

Penny shot him a funny look. "Dude...we aren't Careers."

The crowd laughed.

"What I mean is basically everyone's tactics are to try and stray from the violence. If someone decides to mess with us, we'll prove they shouldn't have come up on us." Colton clarified.

Penny nodded slowly in understanding before looking back to me.

"Let's start with some Capitol Questions, shall we?" I pulled out a slip. "To Penny: your evaluation consisted of a spear, pitchfork, trident, and shurikens. Which will you be using in the arena?"

"Wait and see." She answered wit a sky smile.

"Ooh, mysterious." I said to the audience, making them laugh. "What about you, Colton?"

"Like Penny said, wait and see. It definitely isn't a typical District Nine weapon." He answered, smirking.

"We can't wait though!" I said with mock frustration.

"You only need to wait until morning!" Penny tempted.

"Oh, c'mon! A hint?" I pushed.

The two tributes in front of me looked at one another, whispered, then looked back to me. "They both are long range." Colton spoke.

"That narrows it down." I said.

"Yep! And for a further simplification, you just have to tune in tomorrow." Colton said.

I smiled and the audience laughed and cheered. "Unfortunately, our time is up. Good luck tomorrow in the Games!"

I motioned to the two tributes as they stood up. "Penny Williams and Colton Levi!"

The crowd screamed adoringly as they happily sauntered off the stage. I can only hope she and her alliance stay safe as I try and calm down the crowd.
