Favonious Falcon's Perspective

The crowd cheered wildly as the two tributes from District Six walked offstage. Both of them, Makayla and Chase, waved at the crowd adoringly until they were hidden from view.

"Well, weren't they just incredible? However, time to welcome out a truly fascinating pair of tributes. They both are best friends from District Seven that had the unlucky fate of being tributes." I explained. "Please welcome Jo Stevens and Ryan Harris!"

They both sauntered out happily, striding to the beat of the theme music. Jo's short blonde hair was curled with a silver barrette pinning some of it back. Her dress was aqua with a sweetheart neckline embellished in silver gems. There was a belt of even more silver gems going around her waist which poofed out into a short skirt. Ryan, looking dapper as ever, wore a silver suit with an aqua dress shirt.

We greeted one another before we sat down opposite each other. The crowd settled and I began the interview.

"Jo, Ryan, welcome." I smiled.

"Thank you!" Jo said politely.

"So, let's get right down to it." I started. "How did you two feel when you discovered the other was reaped?"

They both went silent. Jo got a sour look on her face, the same one she wore when her name was called.

"It sucked." Ryan spoke. "Jo and I have been best friends our whole life and discovering that we both were being sent into the arena was heartbreaking."

"Any comments?" I asked Jo.

"Ryan pretty much summed it up." Jo answered. "But you'll see both of us again for the victory interview. Mark my words."

"I'll hold you two it." I chuckled and the crowd laughed.

"Well, let's get into some fan questions." I said and reached into the bowl. "If you both could change your district where would you live?"

The two of them looked at each other and the simultaneously spoke. "The Capitol."

The crowd and I laughed. "And why is that?"

"This place is so cool! What with the food and the rooms and the amenities. It's great!" Ryan exclaimed.

However I could decipher the big answer from a soft glimmer of sadness in their scintillating eyes. And no place in the Games.

"Great answer." I said. "We Capitol people do have pretty good lives." I joked, causing the crowd to laugh.

"You have no idea." Jo said awkwardly with a small forced laugh.

"Well anyways." I pulled out another slip. "To Jo: do you have anyone you are going to try and win for?"

Jo went silent and looked at her lap. Ryan bit his lip.

"Ryan and I are orphans." Jo revealed. "We raised ourselves."

"Oh...I'm so sorry." I said with absolute honesty. The crowd echoed me with words of sympathy.

"It's no problem. I mean, I've been an orphan for practically my entire life so it isn't that touchy of a subject anymore." Jo tried to play it off but I saw the tears beginning to brim in her eyes.

To change the subject, I told a small funny story from my first day as an interviewer and it got everyone--including Jo and Ryan--to laugh for hours.

I stood up and they followed my lead. "Jo. Ryan. Tomorrow morning I wish you both the best of luck in the arena. It's been my pleasure being able to interview you both."

They thanked me for the opportunity, then waved to the audience and started off.

"Jo Stevens and Ryan Harris!" I announced as they waved to the crowd on their way out.

And when the entire audience got on their feet and began whooping and hollering with joy and encouragement, I joined in with them.
