Chapter 4

"Okay, so, before everything I want you to promise before you hate me you will listen to everything I have to say." Helena looked at Eva expectedly

"You are scaring me..." Eva eyed her friend doubtfully

"What I have to tell you is really important, so I am just making sure you won't get overemotional and stop listening to me." Helena replied

"Okay, okay, I will listen to every single word you are gonna tell me. Now, what's it?!"

"Be prepared." Helena said as she pulled a wand out of her nightstand
"Are you ready?" she asked

"I suppose so..!" Eva tried to chuckle and failed, as she already knew the situation was very serious.

With a flick of her wand, Helena started growing up and changing appearance. Eva was not able to understand exactly what was happening, as her friend was surrounded by the light coming out from her wand. When the light faded, in front of her, was no longer Helena, but someone a little older, who looked terribly alike her friend. She also felt that she had a deep connection with that young lady. But she couldn't tell exactly how. She found herself unable to speak, just staring at the new appearance of her once best friend.

"Hello there!" the girl greeted

"H... Hey..." Eva responded

"Okay, I know this is weird, but first, let me introduce myself properly. My name is Heluna and I work for the Ministry of Magic as a spy. I happen to be a relative of yours, so it was my honour taking the job of protecting you in this muggle world."

"Heluna... Spy... Relative... Muggle?!" Eva whispered as to force herself take in all of that new information

"Yes, well done! You are a quick learner!" Heluna praised

"So, may I continue? You can ask me anything you want afterwards."

"Okay..." Eva answered, her voice barely audible

"Well, as you have already understood, the magic world does exist, and you are to be part of it. Muggle, is a word of describing the non magical. Both your parents are muggles, so you are a muggleborn witch. The magical world, is aware of a new member the exact day and time of its birth. That's why, if you haven't noticed, both letters from Hogwarts arrived at 15:07 (pm), the exact time of your birth. It is true that the first letter wasn't delivered by the mailman, even if you thought it was. From the time I work for the ministry, I was assigned to protect you, until you will be able to protect yourself. As for your school supplies, we will go and get them together. Oh, and even having changed my appearance... Well, in reality showed you my true identity, if you wish we could still be friends! Any questions? Feel free to ask whatever comes to your mind!"

"Oh... I... I... I don't know... It's... It's just... Too much information..." Eva muttered

"Do you want us to leave it for a bit and talk when you are ready?" Heluna asked

"No! What guarantees me you will not be gone by tomorrow?!" Eva exclaimed with tears in her eyes

"I assure you." Heluna said with a reassuring tone

"No, I think it's better now." Eva insisted

"Okay then, I'm all ears."

"First of all, what kind of relatives are we? Second, why did you have to change your appearance to be near me? Then, who had given me the first letter? And lastly, how can I trust you?!"

"We are distant cousins. Your mother is not even aware of my existence, because my parents live far away and isolated from every other relative they have. Even for me, it's just like they do not exist at all. So, how I could possibly come and say, 'Hello, my name is Heluna, I am a distant relative and charged to protect Eva, who is going to be a witch.', especially to your mother, knowing her thoughts about magic. Let alone my name doesn't help much. The only way I had to keep an eye on you was by transfigurating myself, into my younger self. As for the first letter, my husband delivered it to you, using polyjuice potion. And-"

"Wait, wait, wait!! Your husband?! How old are you to have already been married?! Oh... Sorry... I know it's not polite to ask such a thing..." Eva said just as she realized what has come out of her mouth

"Don't worry, it's fine with me, but just with me, eh! Haha.. So, I'm 23 years old, and yes I am married. I married Kakashi one year after finishing Hogwarts. He works for the Ministry of Magic as a spy too. Now, for your last question... I really don't have a sufficient answer. That's what you will decide from your heart. I cannot possibly ask you to trust me at once, but I at least ask you to try to understand me..." Heluna said sadly

Just like being forced by an inner power, Eva came forward and hugged her friend. She didn't like seeing her sad. Even if she was 11, 12, 23 or 43 years old. She had grown to care about her. And at the exact moment, she knew what was the connection she felt from the first time they met. Heluna was her cousin, and her heart indicated she could rely on her. Even if it was difficult at first, they would make it. Rebuild the relationship they once had, but with a different base.

"May I take this as a positive response at continuing our friendship?" Heluna asked smiling

"Aha!" Eva smiled back

"But what are we gonna say to mum?" Eva asked with a concerned look

"That, you are gonna leave it to me. You are not gonna tell her anything, cause just a wrong word and everything could be ruined. I will be the responsible for informing her, without your interference. If you want, you can be there just to know what happened. But if you want that, you'll have to promise whatever you see or hear, you are not going to make an appearance. Your mother will be unaware of your being there. Okay?"

"Alright, I'm not gonna make a move... But when are you going to tell her?"

"Right before heading to Diagon Alley. The place where we will find everything needed for your attendance at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry! You'll get to know the names of everything sooner or later!" Heluna explained after seeing Eva's confused expression at the name

"Okay, haha. But what if she doesn't take it well?"

"She won't. But I will convince her it's just normal and that's the best for you and your future. That way, there is no possibility of her refusing. I can even tell you, she will owl you every single day, just to see if you are alright. You know, she loves you more than anything, more than her own life. And she would do everything she could or could not, she would change the impossible to possible just to see you happy. And that's what, makes her the best mother I have ever met."

"I know, she is the most wonderful people of all..." Eva said with a sad smile

"What happened now?!"

"Well, you know... I am the only person she has here, and I don't wanna leave her alone..." Eva said with tears in her eyes

"From the time she accepts the magical world, everything is going to be okay. You will be able to contact her everyday with owls, and I will provide her the best care while you are away. And you will be able to visit her on weekends."

"Okay, I trust you... Even if I shouldn't so easily, I cannot help it... I've felt a connection between us from the first time we met.. And now I know, it's because we are related."

"I've felt that too you know." Heluna smiled

"So, when are we going to that place for my school supplies?" Eva asked

"Hahaha... Diagon Alley. Say it! There's no way you'll learn it if you don't say it!"

"Tsk, fine! Diagon Alley. Happy now?" Eva joked

"Perfect! Well, one of those days, we will arrange it, okay?"

"Okay! I already feel anxious!"

"There's no need to. I assure you, everything is gonna be fine."
