Chapter 18
I finally arrive home an hour later. I stay in my car for a little looking in the house. On the right of the front door there is a sliding glass door that leads to the living room and in it you can clearly see the couch.
I smile as I see Nate pacing in front of the couch and Landon laying on it, his hands behind his head. I slowly get out of the car and inhale the smell of salt water. When I slam my car door closed Nate and Landon look over with a smile on their faces. I smile back and walk to the door.
Right as I enter the house I see my parents standing there. My mom looks insanely pissed while my dad is just standing there like a statue.
“Where have you been?” my mom asks.
“Out,” I say walking past her.
I look over at Nate and Landon.
“Wait for me upstairs,” I mouth to them.
They nod their heads and retreat upstairs.
“We aren’t done here!” my mom yells, her face turning redder by the minute.
I glare at her and look over at my dad.
“What nothing to say,” I growl at him.
He looks so pathetic standing there I can’t stand to be in the same room with them any longer. I turn around and run upstairs ignoring my mom yelling my name. I slam my door and lean my head up against it. I scream really loud, letting the anger out with it.
I hear muffled laughter behind me and I turn around to see Nate and Landon covering their mouths to hide their laughter. I feel my cheeks heat up.
“Sorry guys I forgot you were here.”
The bathroom door is then pushed open and Blake comes running in.
“Are you okay I heard a scream?” he looks between Nate, Landon, and I a confused look on his face.
“Yeah I’m fine. Hey we haven’t talked in a while how are you?”
“I’m good…” he says.
“That’s good,” I smile.
“Well, I should go it looks like you guys are… in the middle of something…” he laughs.
He retreats back into his room.
“Yeah, I’m going to go too,” Landon says standing up and walking out.
“Can you go to Nate?”
“Why?”
“Because I don’t really want to talk to you.”
“Fine,” he rolls his eyes.
I slam my door after him and pick up my phone.
“Hello?”
“Hey,” I say.
“Oh Jess! Long time no talk huh? How are you babe?”
“Charlotte?”
“Oh no,” she immediately senses my sadness and her voice changes. “What’s wrong? Is this about the whole Nate verses Jason thing.”
“No I already solved that…”
“Oh who did you pick?” she asks excitedly.
“Nate but…”
