Take a Hint
Do you know what’s exciting? Dress shopping with Ed Sheeran. No. I’m being 100% serious. Ed invited me to a movie premier that he worked on the soundtrack for. That’s actually the only reason he extended his stay in LA.
You see, California was his last concert on his tour in America. He planned on staying until the middle of July to enjoy his summer. He was supposed to head back home to England, but DreamWorks offered him work on the soundtrack for a movie due to be released at the end of August.
And here we are: the end of august, awaiting the release of the film. It was tomorrow, but Ed failed to tell me this, meaning I needed a new dress. Don’t think I wasn’t angry about it because I was, but I still really loved shopping. Not as much shopping as it was with trying on clothes.
We’d already picked out the dress, but the line was endless. You’d think the Ed Sheeran and Isyss Tyler, nominees for Best Off-Screen Chemistry would be able to cut, but no. We’re in line stuck behind some obnoxious bottle blonde and in front of-
Oh dear lord.
“Isyss?”
The sad part is, being in public, I can’t very well ignore him calling my name. And besides, we’re friends, right? Yea. I know we’re friends because Niall, Liam, and Ed all gave me shit about it.
“Hey Tristan,” I said, smiling lightly as I turned around to face him. Don’t think I missed the snicker Ed provided me with. Asshole.
“Premier party, I see.” Clearly he was trying to make conversation, but I could tell he wanted to get out of there. And I didn’t miss the glances he was throwing Ed.
So I just nodded. “Yep.”
Now would be the part you say bye. “Do you feel like getting coffee sometime?” Not exactly what I was looking for.
“Sure,” as hesitant as it might be, I still agreed. “I’m auditioning back at the studio if you want to hit Chino’s in like 10 days.”
“Perfect.”
That was yesterday, and as awkward as it might’ve been, it was worth it. Maybe Tristan and I get over this bump. Besides, now I’m dressed to impress with Ed Sheeran on my arm. Why couldn’t this have happened 6 months ago?
“Isyss! Ed!” A very familiar voice was calling our names. And boy, when I turned around and saw who it was, I couldn’t have been happier.
“Good evening, Victor,” Ed was the one to greet my favorite Red Carpet Pap, Victor Cruise.
He was such a kindhearted man. Going after the truth rather than the gossip. “Good evening to you as well. You have such a beautiful lady on your arm.”
Is he speaking of me? Awe, shucks. “Thank you, Victor. I was forced against my will.”
“That’s a bloody lie.” If he didn’t have such a sexy accent, I’d have buried him long ago for his lingo.
“It is indeed a ‘bloody lie.’” And without his nifty lingo, I wouldn’t be able to mock him on Access Television.
“Alright, I’m just going to say it,” our host burst in with. The smile on his face was wide… Too wide. “You two are absolutely adorable together. Are you an item?” Oh jeez.
“We aren’t together,” That’s right, Ed. Deny. Deny. Deny. “We’re just friends.”
“Ed’s extremely nice,” I added, but I quickly realized how lame that sounded. I’d better add some compliments up in this denial sandwich. “And extremely handsome, but we just work together as Bffs.” And now he sounds gay. Great.
“Besides, I don’t think I stand a chance.”
Now that was confusing. Ed knew that I planned on sleeping with him before I was 40, and marrying him soon afterwards. He has the biggest chance with me. “You don’t?”
Victor must’ve been confused as well. “And why don’t you stand a chance.”
Wait a minute. What is that smirk doing on his face. Ed. No. Don’t. “Well I believe Isyss fancies a-”
“Ed, no!” I jumped on his back and covered his mouth with my hand. “We’ll be going now.” Victor just waved us off with an amused smile. I was far from amused. The second we were in the theatre and distant enough from the cameras, I jumped off his back and started hitting him. “What the hell are you thinking!?”
“I’m just speeding the process along,” he laughed.
“Well don’t!” I planned on talking to Liam about my feelings, but it was going to happen September 16th when they were in England, and Ed’s confession was online. “I’m going to win.”
“I don’t think so.” No, Ed. The deny rule only works if it’s for my defense.
“You’re ridiculous.” How could he not see my determination? “Of course I’m going to win.”
The sneaky Brit had comebacks, though. “I don’t believe in gossip, but Liam’s been talking about you.”
“He has?”
“Obviously.”
“What has he said?” No, Ice. You have to act like you don’t care. DON’T SHOW WEAKNESS!
Obviously Ed noticed that I was showing my weakness. “I thought you said you didn’t care.”
“I-I don’t.” That wasn’t the deny rule; that was bad acting. “It’s you and I who have chemistry.” Oh smart, turn it around on the boy.
“But we lost to Michael and Jenna-”
“We don’t speak about that!
