"So, are we just going to keep hugging, or are we going to go tell everyone I'm awake?" I chuckled, sounding more like my old self when I enjoyed school and had friends.
"Oh, right." He hesitantly let go and stopped straddling me.
I put on my mask but kept my hood down. I'm starting to feel comfortable with it down now. We headed put of the room and I pulled a ketchup packet out of my hoodie pocket, giving it to Sans. He looked at me confused as I smiled under my mask.
"Drink it. I can tell you haven't had ketchup in a while." I could see the happiness light up in his features as he grabbed the packet and opened it, savoring the sweet flavor, probably enjoying the slightly bitter after taste that was so familiar.
I grabbed one of his hands in my partly gloved one and started to walk faster. My legs and wounds were completely healed now, only scars were left behind. I could hear soft sobbing come from one of the nearby rooms and rushed to it, still holding Sans' hand. It felt comfortable, almost like we were supposed to hold each other's hands, phalanges laced together like a zipper. I knocked on the door softly and waited for a response. A soft gasp came from the other side as it opened a small amount. Crimson eyes stared up as my mask, my (h/c) hair framed the sides.
"C'mon Chara, don't cry. I'm awake." I spoke in my rough and scratchy voice, kneeling down on one knee so then she could reach me for a hug. Instead, I got something I wasn't expecting. Chara. My sister. Punched me. In the face.
The mask cracked under pressure and my left eye was revealed. Cracks laced the left side of the mask as I kneeled there, my (e/c) eyes wide with shock and fear. The door slammed closed in my face, the sudden gust of air pushed me back and onto the ground. Small tears started to leak down my left eye, laced with crimson blood from a cut on my cheek. I could feel the shock flow through the area as I got up and dusted myself off, letting out a chocked laugh.
"O-Oh. That's okay. I-I u-u-under-stand. After all the jokes I h-have made and everything I've done. Its okay..." I got up and smiled shakily to cover up the pain flooding my heart. My soul.
"Hey, it's okay (y/n). She probably didn't mean it." Sans helped me up but I didn't let him see the side of the mask that broke.
"Let's just go let everyone else know." I rasped out my words, walking down the hall. Sans laced his hand with mine while we walked, squeezing my hand in a comforting way. I continued to the elevator and pressed the highest button, sending us to the lab. Once the button dinged, I noticed we were on the surface.
"Alphys opened up her lab to the humans?" I spoke quietly.
"Yeah, and she had put in a medical center in case anyone got hurt from stupid actions." Sans explained as we walked threw to the exit. People gave me weird glances of worry, pity, and disappointment.
"Lets just hurry. Once my family finds out I'm alive, I'm going to be dead in this timeline." I walked hand in hand with him as he glanced at me worried, still unable to see the cracked mask from my hair covering it.
"Hey, don't talk like that. I won't let that happen. Here, lets just teleport there." He hugged me tightly and I closed my eyes, feeling the world around me shift under my feet and the pressure around me change for a moment before stopping. I opened my eyes to find us in front of a large house, two story.
Sans pulled a key out of his pocket and pushed it in the lock, twisting it until he heard it click, symbolizing it was unlocked. He took his key out and opened the door for me. He let me go first and I stepped in, pulling my hood over my head. I heard a soft 'nyeh' come from ahead further into the house. Suddenly a shout startled me.
"Sans! Are you back, is the human okay?!" It was Papyrus. He sounded more tired than usual.
"Yeah bro, she's perfectly fine." He chuckled and winked at me, making my cheeks flare and the blood rush out of my cut. I still ignored it.
"That's good to hear! Are you going to be eating tonight?!" I instantly knew what was going on with Sans while I was sleeping.
"Yeah bro." Sans started to sweat nervously as I turned to him, crossing my arms.
"Sans. Why weren't you eating while I was in my mini coma?" I kept my voice low, but not low enough apparently because Papyrus walked out of the kitchen and looked at us.
"Sans, who's that?!" He pointed at me in slight fear. This made me scared of what might have happened while I slept.
"Hey Papy, it's me. (Y/n). Chara's sister." I prayed that he remembered Chara even had a sister. He squealed and his expression became more awake and happy.
"HUMAN! YOU'RE AWAKE! THAT'S GREAT NEW! WE MUST GO TELL THE OTHERS!" He grabbed me and held me like a football as he rushed up the steps and into a loft. There were five doors connecting to the loft.
Oh great. This'll be lovely, explain the cracks in the mask and why I'm here.
