...

"Oi~ I found it!"

Naruto signalled from under a clock tower made of white brick that was now crumbling away; it was the location of their rendezvous point. The tower soared into the sky, but both hands of the clock were rooted in one place, unmoving and silent. The streets and fields were devoid of any people save their team; everything appeared as though it had been frozen in time.

When they had arrived in the Land of Waves, Naruto had decided to scurry ahead to look for the tower, and had managed to find it very quickly. "Uh... does anyone else get a bad feeling it's going to fall on us?", he asked, as he craned his neck to look up at the tower, earning murmurs and nods from the team.

They all placed themselves a good distance from the building and the rest of the time was spent listening to Naruto's theories on what the mission could possibly be.

As she listened, Sakura raised her brows at some of the more thrilling ones. They had just arrived after a relatively long journey and the Uzumaki's excitement had seemed to double; triple, even. Of course, this wasn't surprising as the blonde was almost always excited and it had been a long time since their last visit to the Land of Waves; they had even crossed the 'Great Naruto Bridge'.

She didn't feel as excited.

For Sakura, coming back had brought back memories of the better times.

In the Land of Waves, Team 7 had fought with their lives as they battled two powerful opponents, they had completed their first, serious mission as a team... and they were together. In those times, Sakura hadn't lost her teammate and the love of her life. She glanced at Kakashi, and then at Naruto, and she was certain, like her, they had also remembered. Perhaps this was why Naruto was acting more excited than usual; to lighten the mood.

"The escort's late, let's just leave without him!" Naruto bellowed suddenly, making her flinch.

"No more theories?" Kakashi asked as he handed the blonde the green scroll. "Without an escort, there is no mission."

Sai plastered himself to Naruto so he could also read the scroll.

"Get lost, Sai, I'm reading it!" Naruto snapped, shoving Sai away from him.

"I did not know you could read."

The scroll was instantly forgotten and it became the fifth time Sakura had to remind herself to save energy.

"Okay, Sakura-chan~?"

In the midst of Naruto and Sai's argument, Kakashi had lowered his face to dramatically whisper in her ear. It was now Kakashi who was trying to lighten the mood.

"Only if you are, Sensei" she responded, shooting him a smile that was as equally dramatic.

"Sorry, I'm late!!"

Everyone turned their head in the direction of the new voice; a young woman had appeared from behind the clock tower and was walking towards them.

Her hair was a bright silver, and it reminded Sakura of sunlight hitting water; it fell in long, silky waves to her waist. Her eyes were blue, a cold blue, outlined with heavy, black eyeliner. She wore a white silk shirt with a black, buttoned mid-length skirt, and flowing behind her like a cape was a chic, cream jacket. Her black heels snapped at the concrete below and a maroon bag rested across her body. There were black markings tattooed on her legs, and they reached under her skirt and stopped at her ankles.
