8th chapter!

{I do not own Naruto, Kishimoto does}

...

The green flames illuminated Sakura's body and made it's way around her neck, but skipped her face and hair. Her Konoha headband slipped off her head and Sakura could feel something else coil up around it. When Sakura reached up to touch it, she found vines, their thorns tearing through her hair and some piercing her scalp. Sakura looked at her fingers, and found blood.

The emerald chakra around Sakura's hands slithered around her arms like snakes, burning away her pink elbow protectors, and stopping just underneath her shoulders. Sakura felt something pour out of her eyes and felt it burn out spirals beside them. Sakura touched the substance and it was sandy in texture and emerald green in colour.

She now felt as one with the forest and the dark aura. It was like a sinister part of herself had erupted from her body, an evil presence that was always by her side.

Sakura could feel every ounce of the dark aura inside of her. She could feel it rushing through her veins, whizzing through her brain, she could feel it through every heartbeat. Sakura could also feel the pain in her body. It was like an on-going adrenaline rush that sped all the way through her form. She felt cold inside, and memories she hated, memories of anger and hate, sped through her mind.

After the memories came altered versions of them, where Sakura wasn't the victim. Instead there was blood and violence in every alteration, where Sakura was the one causing the pain.

Sakura transformed her lips into an evil smirk; it felt good. The pain brought her power and the memories excited her. It was like a strange sensation inside of her that made her feel somewhat, more alive. She never knew something so evil could feel this amazing.

...

Sakura's transformation reminded Sasuke of himself, when he had used the curse mark for power.

He knew this wasn't like the kunoichi, because she wasn't like him. She was his former team mate so he knew her enough to know that she would never give into darkness that evil; Sakura was too virtuous for that.

Sasuke gave into darkness, likewise with Naruto whenever he would use the Kyubbi's power, but even the thought of Sakura being lugged with darkness made it even more improbable. She was the only one without any trace of evil within her. She brought people back from their own darkness.

"Would she give in, in order to take me back to Konoha?" Sasuke asked himself, scowling due to the absurdity of the idea.

A number of strategies to defeat the darkness surrounding Sakura sped through Sasuke's mind, but all of them consisted of hurting Sakura. He didn't want to do that.

"All I need to do is seperate whatever darkness there is from Sakura" Sasuke thought as he took out his sword out swiftly. First he would test out the darkness's power.

He ran towards Sakura with his sword held firmly in his grip. His right leg still felt weak so he pushed off harder with his left, gaining more speed. "I'm only doing this because you're in my way, I'm not saving you!" Sasuke shouted, before he slashed his sword out to meet with Sakura's throat.

...

Sakura watched as the Uchiha ran towards her with his sword in hand. The speed in which he was moving was great and she felt how impressed the dark aura was, a light glow fluttering inside her stomach.

She didn't feel any fear or the urgency to move. The consciousness inside of her told her to be calm and she was. She felt like a puppet on strings, each and every one of her movements controlled by the dark aura.

As he slashed his sword towards her throat, Sakura stood still and watched as Sasuke's sword met with the green, monstrous flames that irradiated around her neck. The green flames sped round the sword and towards its hilt, where Sasuke's hand was gripping.

She felt relaxed and confident as she observed Sasuke's actions from her home of fire.

...

Sasuke jumped back and dropped his sword. The flames engulfed had engulfed it with gleaming, green energy, and then the sword burst into green sparks. "If I touch those flames, they'll do the same thing to me. Dammit" Sasuke thought.

He ran towards her again, and intwined his hands together, performing the neccesary seals. "Katon! Fire ball jutsu!"

Sasuke brought his hand to his mouth and breathed out fire. The orange flames, a lion hunting down Sakura, ran towards her, increasing in size as it did so. As he landed on the ground, Sasuke kept himself low as he hid behind his ninjutsu.

...

As the flames flew closer to Sakura, she prepared herself to dodge it.

"Don't move... He's quite smart that boy, fighting fire with fire!" the dark aura said, before laughing in Sakura's ear. The icy laugh sent shivers down Sakura's spine and pain seeped through her ear.

Sakura watched the orange flames dance towards her as they loudly crackled like the sound of snapping twigs, and flapped around like flying birds.

Sakura held in a breath as the flames finally arrived to burn her, her eyes taking in the intensity of it's power. She had never seen anything like it; Sasuke had definitely improved over the years.

But instead of her taking a direct hit from the roaring flames, they stopped moving towards her to crawl their way into her skin of light and fire.

Sasuke's flames turned green themselves, adding to her shield. The new flames that had joined with her aura danced around her, making her feel more power. An evil laugh arose out of Sakura's mouth as the green flames rushed around her whole body.

She felt so strong, she wanted to keep this feeling forever inside of her.

"Have Naruto and Sasuke-kun felt this, too?", the thought entering her head as she watched the green flames move around her fingers and hands, the veins on her wrists becoming more vivid and sickly from under her skin.

...

Sasuke watched his jutsu combine with Sakura's flames. He had hid behind his flames to successfully get closer to Sakura, and no he was waiting. "It must have given her more power" Sasuke thought, his eyes searching for an opening.

Sasuke changed the strategy inside his head, knowing that his ninjutsu would only give Sakura more power, and his taijutsu would make it easier for the darkness to engulf him in its flames.

Sasuke then heard Sakura's laugh. It was nefarious. "Now!" Sasuke thought, instantly activating the second stage of his sharingan, the Mangekyō Sharingan, and speeding towards Sakura again. Genjutsu was the only way Sasuke could seperate the darkness from the kunoichi without hurting her, but he felt like that was only a possibility.

Sasuke watched as the flames continued to speed around Sakura and her cold laugh was still vibrating in the air around him.

Sasuke could only guess what kind of immense power Sakura could feel. "What is this feeling? I love it! I want more! More and more!" Sakura screamed, making Sasuke grit his teeth. Sakura had changed into a completely different person.

Sasuke jumped towards Sakura as soon as the flames had stopped dancing around her. He made sure that his body was away from the deadly green flames as he arched himself back and his eyes bore into Sakura's irradiated ones'.

Sasuke felt his Mangekyō Sharingan spin as he activated his genjutsu. As soon as he did, Sakura's eyes widened, and the red and blue veins in her eyes expanded.

"Forgive me, Sakura"
