Mana's POV-
Two days had past, and I still couldn't build up the courage to tell Gwen what I had agreed to regarding Rowan Sullivans. I had managed to avoided her questioning the night we left Sinful only by promising I would never leave her alone with Luck again. I don't know what went on in the candles room while I was gone, but what I do know is that the evening ended with Luke wearing a black eye and Gwen baring a pretty impressive looking hicky on her neck. When I asked her what had happened she said she would tell me when I told her what happened with Sullivans. And from the looks of things neither of us would be getting answers anytime soon.
I was pondering all of this while sitting in the study. The rooms walls were covered in floor to ceiling book shelf's. Gwen and I both had an impressive book collection between the two of us, most of the shelf were crammed packed full. I had come into the study in hopes of continuing my research on Rowan Sullivans, but when I went back to look back at my old leads I had saved on my laptop- and mind you there were a good amount of them. When I opened the file they were all gone! I was beyond frustrated at this point. I had a sickening feeling in my stomach that the leads I had found on the mastery's Rowan Sullivans weren't a accident but a gift to peak my interest. This put my frustration with Rowan Sullivans at a new high.
Just then I heard the house phone ring. Which was unusual for the fact that only our parents called us on that line. But before I could reach for the phone Gwen called out that she would get it. I was thankful for this small gift, because if it was indeed one of our parents, and most likely my mother I would have to muster up all of my courage to try and hold a civil conversation with the loving women. It wasn't her fault I was in a sour mood.
But to my surprise Gwen stomped into the study holding the cordless not looking all to happy. "Its for you. And tell him to never call here again!" Gwen said crossing her arms.
I looked at her in total confusion at her out burst. "Who is it Gwen?" I asked looking at the phone in my hand.
"Who do you think?!" Gwen answered dropping the phone in my lap.
Judging by Gwen's reaction to the caller there was a 50/50 shot that I was not going to enjoy this phone call. My gut told me the caller had something to do with a Master Sullivans.
"Hello?" I spoke into the phone.
"Miss. Hollingsworth?" A familiar voice answered.
"Yes." I knew I had heard the voice before but I was having trouble placing it.
"This is Luke Everhorn Master Sullivans head assistant."
Now that I knew for a fact that this was Luke or as Gwen called him 'Mr. stares a lot'. I now understood her attitude toward the caller. And like I said neither of us were jumping the gun to tell the other what happened the other night.
"I didn't recognize your voice before Mr. Everhorn. What can I do for you?" I answered trying to sound professional but my gut was over flowing with nerves.
"As you are aware Ms. Hollingsworth with being Master Sullivans head assistant I have been informed of the agreement you have made the other evening. But with that I will need you to sign the contracts agreeing to confidentiality." Luke spoke all of this as if it was perfectly normal. Like his boss did this kind of crap all the time. I on the other hand was still freaked out by what I had agreed to.
"You cant be serious? I have to sign a contract?" I asked, I had given up trying to hide my emotions at this point.
"I'm being very serious Ms. Hollingsworth, why would you think I was joking? Master Sullivans is a very powerful man in this city and other places you mortals are unaware of. So it is only standard that we have all employees sign a confidentiality contract." Luke's voice was getting more and more icy with every word he spoke. And lets just say that his current tone want earning him any damn brownie points currently.
