Chapter 13

Artemis's POV

I ran through the halls.  I had just yelled to Red about the plan the rest of the team had come up with over the mind link.  Hopefully, I had warned him in time.  

I rounded the corner to see the rest of the team standing over Zatanna, who was laying on the floor.  "Did you get him?" I asked the team.

"No," Kid Flash said.  "We only managed to get Zee in the wave."

"We better search around the manor more.  He might still be here," Rocket said, who had showed up after the bomb went off and we fought Red the first time.

"I'll go check the halls," Kid Flash said before speeding off.  

"I'll go check out the main hall.  He still might not know about the police waiting for him there," Miss Martian said.  

"I'll come with you," I said quickly. 

"Go," Aqualad said.

Miss M and I ran through the halls, or in M's case, flew.   "This kid seems really skilled for a common thief," Miss M remarked. 

"Well, he does have superpowers," I replied. 

"Still."

We didn't speak another word until we entered into the main hall where many police officers stood, waiting.  

Miss M and I walked up to the Commissioner as he ordered his men around.  "I want someone to find out where Bruce Wayne is.  We don't know if Red X is capable of taking hostages," Commissioner Gordon said.  

"Commissioner," I said as we walked up to him. 

"Any luck on finding the thief?" Gordon asked. 

"No luck so far.  But we are looking," Miss M replied.  

"We want him found," Gordon said before turning to talk to another officer.  

I looked to Miss M.  "Let's split up.  We might be able to find him quicker.  Keep in touch via the mind link."

She nodded before flying away down a joining hallway, I went down another.  

"Red, you okay?" I asked through the com.

"What happened?" Barbara asked.  "My dad is kind of freaking out to catch Red!"

"Red?" I asked. 

The com was silent for a while.  I was starting to get worried, but finally, he replied. "I'm here.  Sorry, I had Superboy nearby."

"Thank goodness you are okay!  What happened?" Barbara asked.

"Aqualad tried to ambush me by sending a huge wave over me, but I managed to teleport into a nearby vent, thanks to Artemis's warning," Red explained.

"Are you nearly out?" I asked.

"I am just finding a window to jump out of," he said. 

"I'll meet you back at HQ," Barbara said.  

"As will I," I said.  Everyone then shut off their coms, getting ready to head to Dick's place.

"Has anyone found anything?" I asked the rest of my team over the mind link.

"Nothing," Aqualad reported.  "Green Arrow and Black Canary have reported to me that they are going home for the night.  I suggest we do the same.  Meet back at the mountain tomorrow."

"Copy that," I said.

"I'm here!" I yelled as I entered into the main room of Dick's place.  Barbara and Dick stood in the middle of the room, now in sweats and t-shirts, looking over files on the a holocomputer.  "What did you get?"
