A/n: This oneshot is going to be rather long, just a warning. I'll probably split it into two parts, and next story I won't write about Toriel.
EDIT: REQUESTS ARE CLOSED. REQUESTS WERE OPEN A WHILE AGO, BUT THEY ARE CLOSED NOW. I MAY HAVE ASKED YOU TO REQUEST IN CHAPTERS AFTER THIS, BUT PLEASE DO NOT. THANK YOU.
Your POV:
Your feet crunched in the slightly frozen ground as you tramped uphill. You heard the rumors. You knew the story. "Those who climb the mountain are never seen again." It sounded perfect. Your life was miserable, there was no point.
You finally reached a cave, in which there was a hole. You carefully leaned down, peering into the dark abyss. You shivered, not only at the cold biting at all your exposed skin, but also because this was the end.
The end for you.
Staring into the darkness, it fills you with INTEGRITY.
You took one final glance back at the sunrise, knowing this would be the last time you saw it. "G-goodbye cruel world. I-it's been quite a journey." You whispered to the pinkish light. A single tear rolled down your cheek.
You jumped.
Now you were falling.
After a while, you realized you were going to die any second. You gasped, the harsh reality suddenly crashing down on you. "No. No no no no no! I can't die, not like this! I-I can't die yet! I want to travel, I w-w-want to see the world! I can't die!" You wailed, salty tears flowing fast. You curled up into a ball and cried into your knees. Suddenly, you blacked out.
You woke up, gasping and shaking. "I-I'm alive?" You asked, beginning to become aware of your surroundings. You were in a cozy little bed, in a small, but tidy room.
"Yes my child, you are indeed alive." A motherly voice from behind you said kindly. You gasped and whipped around. You saw a...goat? She didn't look dangerous.
"What is your name my child?" She asked, good naturedly. "Y/n-n" You said, realizing what you had meant to do by jumping down into the mountain. "Do not cry child, you are alright now." She said, taking off her reading glasses, setting down her book and getting on her knees to hug you. You sobbed and shivered. She whispered reassuring words and patted your back.
She smelled like cinnamon and butterscotch. It was lovely, you hadn't had anything close to a mother in years. After you stopped crying, she led you into her kitchen.
"My name is Toriel, my child, I am the caretaker of the ruins. You are to live with me now. It isn't much, but I have many books and I can educate you on the operation of the puzzles." She said, sliding a plate with a piece of delicious smelling pie on it over to you. You breathes in the scent of home.
The kindness of a stranger. It fills you with INTEGRITY.
You snarfed down the food, not having had a real meal in what seemed like forever. Toriel had her chin resting on her paw, staring absent mindedly at you.
"Would you like to rest some more my child? You took quite a tumble." The kind goat woman offered. You gratefully accepted, still being exhausted. She led you back to the room you woke up in, and you fell asleep swiftly.
