Your POV:

You were cursed. You couldn't talk. Well, that is, until you met your soulmate. You didn't believe in such frivolous things as soulmates, but you had no choice. You were destined to be utterly silent until you met "the one". You were currently dangling upside down, with your knees hanging you from a tree. "The tree" as it was called. Whoever ate the golden apples was supposed to become a god, but whoever ate the black apples was believed to die a painful death. And of course, you were playing where they grew. You were gutsy, being immortal and all.

You allowed way too much blood to rush to your head before straightening out and evening out your bloodstream.

Later, you were plucking some flowers from the ground surrounding the tree and weaving them into a flower crown. Make a hole in the middle of a stem, stick next stem in, line up flowers, repeat process until it's slightly smaller than the circumference of your head, then gently center and rest on your hair. You repeated this with bracelets, chokers, rings and earrings. You heard a stick break, and whipped around to see a skeleton wearing a crown of gold, with a crescent moon on it. He also wore purple boots, a black suit and a cape. You waved casually, picking underneath your nails, digging out some of the dirt.

"Oh! Hi. Who are you?" The Skelton asked. You grabbed a stick and wrote your name in the ground. "Can't you talk?" He asked. You shook your head and attempted to speak. You expected no sound to come out, but instead the word "no" came out. You gasped and looked at the skeleton. W-was this your soulmate?!

"Uh, well I couldn't." You said, shrugging. You explained your curse. Nightmare-you learned his name- blushed when you said the part about soulmates.

"I-I guess you're my soulmate, then." You stuttered, smiling. He smiled back. "I-I've had a curse like that too. Every step I take, and every sound I make feels like stepping on broken glass, or swallowing it. It's supposed to break when I meet my soulmate." He replied, smiling warmly at you.

"Soulmates, huh? Well, your name's rather ironic then. A nightmare? Quite the contrary. You're a more like a dream." You said, taking his hand and walking down the hill.

In the following years, you discovered you were super talkative, and loved singing. Nightmare discovered that he loved....you.
