The next day I was walking around my store fixing some clothes on display and rearranging the jewelry that some customers were too lazy to put back on the little hooks. I mean how hard was it to put things back where they came from? I guess I was just OCD or something along those lines. I spent a good twenty minutes arranging the jewelry in the right orders. I felt a pair of hands wrap themselves around my waist from behind me.
“Hey… I have a problem,” a very familiar voice whispered right into my ear. I smiled. Harry…
“And what might that problem be?” I asked smiling.
“I know this girl… and she’s so amazing and I love her so much, but I haven’t kissed her since last night…”
“I think I can help you with your problem then,” I whispered and turned around. I put my arms around Harry’s neck and kissed him. He smiled.
“Hey,” I whispered when we pulled away.
“I thought I would come see you at your work,” he said, “It’s a big store…”
“Yeah, what are you doing here? Off from work?”
“You could say that…”
I looked at him, “Harry, you did not just leave again, did you?” I unwrapped my arms from his neck and walked to the clothes on the displays behind me.
“Not necessarily…”
“Do I have to call Louis?”
He laughed, “Louis won’t do anything, it’s Liam you have to be afraid of, but he’s still sick.”
“Harry you can’t be leaving work like this…”
“I wasn’t doing anything though,” he said following me as I walked around refolding clothes on display. I wanted to make it look like I was actually working and not talking to my boyfriend. Wait, he was my boyfriend? I was not going to have this inner conflict with myself now. Now was not the time.
“Oh really? Writing songs, rehearsing songs, recording songs, editing songs, you weren’t doing anything Harry?”
He smiled at me, “What are you, my mother?”
“When it comes to your work, yes. You’re not going to get any better if you don’t practice.”
“And there’s another amazing quote of advice from the fabulous Maya Hartman!” he lightly clapped and I smiled at him.
“Harry, I don’t want to get in trouble by talking to you. My boss is already kinda pissed that I took the day off yesterday.”
“It was one day Maya,” Harry said and I looked through the rack of jeans.
“One day doesn’t fly around here,” I replied.
“Oh…”
“Yeah… well it was nice talking to you Harry, but I think it’s time for you to go.”
