"Mia!" yelled Jenny.
"Oh my gosh! It's been too long since I've seen you!"
She is so dramatic at times it's kind of funny. We had only just seen each other last week and she's acting like if it were months. Jenny is the cheerleading captain at Puma High School. Like who calls a school Puma? But whatever right. So anyways, I've known this girl since elementary school and we have been together and done everything together ever since. I had been the new girl and got picked on, but she was there when I needed her and I love her for it.
So Jenny is a tall brunette, and even though she's dramatic and preppy, she's not like other cheerleader chicks who are mean and act like they own the school. She is actually really smart and nice. She is also one of the prettiest girls I've ever met and I'm so jealous of her. She has light skin and her face is pearly smooth with no breakouts or imperfections, and her legs are to die for. I would have never thought someone like her would be a friend with me. I'm tall and skinny, but I don't have anything really to admire. My hair is a caramel color and comes down to my waist. I have never died my hair but I would love to if only my mom would let me. I'm not that pretty... Or so I think. I've been told that I'm pretty but I'm sure it was just to be nice.
Anyways, it's almost the end of the school year and finals are coming up. I'm really not looking forward to them. Jenny and I have studied quite a bit, but it doesn't seem like enough. I get so tired of it and become lazy, so I don't really finish studying.
We just came back from a four day weekend and it did feel like forever since I've seen Jenny so I was extremely glad to see her.
"Soooo... How was your weekend?" Jenny asked, putting her arm through mine.
"It was alright," I answered, "nothing new happened. How about yours?"
"I have so much to tell you! Remember that party one of the football players was going to throw? Carlos? Well the party was at a freckin MANSION! Like you wouldn't believe it! It was the best party I ever went to!"
"Don't tell me you were drinking," I said. I really hate it when she drinks because she gets really crazy, and when she gets crazy, her actions get way out of hand. The last time she got drunk she kissed a girl, and when she found out she regretted ever drinking anything. Thankfully, I was there to save her from drinking any more.
"No I wasn't drinking." She said hesitating. " Well maybe just a little bit! But don't get mad ok! I'm allowed to have a little fun."
I wasn't mad at her, but being my best friend, I just wanted to watch out for her. "Ok, well I guess a little is ok. I'm just looking out for you. God knows what other things you do when you're drunk."
"You know I appreciate it that you're so protective!" she shouted. "That's why I love you."
"Yeah I guess I'm a little protective. And that's because I love you too," I said grabbing her into a big hug.
At that moment the bell rang for first period and we had to go opposite ways, even though our classes were right next to each other.
"See you at break beautiful!" shouted Jenny, disappearing into her classroom.
My first period was history. We are learning about "flappers" and the 90's today. This part of history is actually interesting. I would have loved to be a "flapper" and worn a bandana with short hair and pretty dresses.
In my next class my guy best friend Cole sits next to me. Cole has dark hair and hazel eyes, and dresses like a pretty boy. He has a really cool style. He is really outgoing and is known to be a class clown, but inside he is a very generous, kind, smart, and pretty cute guy. I noticed he looked kinda different today. Weird. He looked nervous
"Hey Cole?" I said trying to catch his attention.
"Goodmorning Mia," he said looking distracted.
"Is everything alright? You look kind of nervous."
"No everything's fine..." He answers fidgeting with his pencil. "But I wanted to ask you if maybe I could go over to your house after school?"
"Yeah no problem. We can walk together." I happily agreed.
