Finally! Desserts arrive and all I could look at is the chocolate fudge covered brownies with Oreo cookies, topped with ice cream and whipped cream. What else can a girl ask for! I couldn't wait to dig in but I was patient and waited for Jason to get his plate and start eating.
"Oh... You don't have to wait for me you know," Jason said.
"Could've told me that before!" I said laughing.
I gladly started eating the dessert and as I took my first bite, many wonderful flavors felt like they were bursting inside my mouth! I've never tasted anything so good! I looked over at Jason to tell him how good it was, when I noticed he hadn't even taken a bite.
"Why aren't you eating?" I asked.
"Because I know you would love to have a second plate when you're done," he said with a smirk.
"Are you trying to make me fat?" I asked Jason with a serious face trying to look hurt.
"No! Never! I just thought since you loved it you would like to have some more. I would never be mean..." he started apologizing but stopped when he saw I was laughing.
"You think this is funny, don't you?" he asked smiling.
"Haha! You should've seen your face! You got scared that you hurt my feelings. Awww you're too cute," I said trying to catch my breath. It was kind of nice knowing that he was worried he'd hurt my feelings. Maybe he really won't do anything that would hurt me.
"I'm not that insecure type where everything someone says will offend me. As a matter of fact, I have a high metabolism which digests my food super speed and I don't get fat. So I can eat everything I want and never get fat! How cool is that?" I said laughing.
"Well that's a great super power. Hmm I kind of wish I had that!" he laughed.
"Yeah well another plate wouldn't be so bad..." I smiled, sliding the second plate of brownie heaven to my side.
"Ha! I knew you would."
"What about you though? You're not going to get dessert?" I asked.
"No I'm fine. I'm having fun watching you act like if you were from a food commercial, 'savoring' each piece," he stated, making air quotes with his hands when he said savoring.
"Weirdo," I said trying not to laugh.
"Excuse me?" he asked acting offended.
"You're just going to watch me eat! You're being a weirdo, slash maybe pervert, slash maybe stalker guy haha," I laughed.
"Well then fine I won't watch you I'll just take some of your dessert!" he yelled getting a fork and leaning over the table getting half of a brownie.
"No!" I yelled. "You said all dessert was for me!"
"Well now I want some!" he yelled back.
As he sat back down he kept staring at me with a smirk. What is up with this guy staring at me!
"Why are you staring at me?" I asked him.
"I kinda accidentally, put some whip cream on your face," he said smiling.
"You jerk! Where?" I yelled. "Wipe it off!"
Jason stood up laughing and grabbed a napkin from the table. He kneeled at my feet and started wiping my chin and side of mouth. I felt it getting warmer and it looked like Jason was getting closer and closer, until we were nose to nose. I couldn't breath! My heart seemed to have skipped a beat. It felt like forever that we were in this position until finally he stood up and went back to his seat. What the hell was that! Teaser!
"Thanks," I said.
"Mhmm," he answered. He looked kind of confused like if what he just did was complicated. Weird.
"Well, when you're done I would like to walk you outside ma'am," he said with a British accent.
"That would be wonderful kind sir," I answered copying his British accent. So I tried my best to eat as fast as I could without showing it because I really wanted to go through those glass doors leading to the garden.
I finally finished and Jason stood up and took my arm through his, walking me to the glass doors.
As he opened the door I felt a warm breeze in my face and I felt calm and happy. There was a big fountain that sat right in the middle with a garden of different colored roses surrounding it. It kind of reminded me of Jason's driveway at his house.
"You know... My mom designed the driveway at our home based on this garden," he whispered.
"Wow. This is beautiful," I whispered back.
"Yeah. It is."
As we walked I saw how the garden was illuminated by various colorful lights. We made our way to a bench at a far corner, and Jason started to take off his jacket.
"Oh you don't have to..." I started to say.
"Who said I was giving it to you?" he laughed.
I gasped. "Jerk!" I yelled.
"Haha! I'm just kidding, here you can take it," he said as he handed the jacket over.
"No I'm alright, it's not even cold," I said.
"Suit yourself," he answered. "Sooo... How do you like this place?"
"I love it! I'd be happy to come here again. And I'll recommend it to anyone who is looking to having a romantic dinner date with that special someone," I said with a wink.
"Well I'm happy that you're happy. Would you like to dance?" he asked extending his hand for me to take. I just noticed there were speakers around the garden and instrumental music was coming out of them.
"Yes, I'd love to dance," I answered.
"Just letting you know now... I'm not much of a good dancer with instrumental, so I'm sorry if I step on you," he said with an apologetic look.
"Just follow my lead then," I said laughing.
"I'm the one who's supposed to say that," he said groaning.
"Haha well it's not my fault you don't know how to dance this! I thought you knew how to dance all type of songs," I yelled.
"Yeah well, I'd never thought I'd have to dance this."
"Well that sucks," I chuckled.
"It never hurts to try though," he said.
"Right."
He led me close to the center, next to the fountain, putting my arm around his shoulders and wrapping his arm around my waist. We started to dance and to my amazement he didn't step on me at all!
"I thought you said you weren't good at this?" I said.
"I think you just make a good lead," he winked.
"Haha, funny," I answered. "Hey what time is it anyway?"
"It's about to be midnight actually," he stated.
"Oh my god! It's late, it didn't seem that long."
"When you're having fun, time always passes by fast," he smiled.
"Yes it does," I smiled back. "Can you get me home now please," I asked.
"Yeah, let's go," he said intertwining my hand with his.
We neared my house and he parked in front. We stayed in silence for a while just sitting there until he broke the silence,"I had a great time tonight, and I hope we can do this many more times."
"I had a great time too. I'm happy you asked me on a date," I stated, smiling like a total goof.
He started leaning ever so slowly, towards me, pausing inches from my face, as if asking me if it was alright for him to kiss me. So I closed the space between us and kissed him, slowly at first but then he turned it into a passionate kiss and it seemed like we couldn't get enough.
I didn't want to but I pulled away, gasping for air. We stayed forehead to forehead and eye to eye trying to get our breaths back.
"I have to go," I whispered.
"Alright," he said smiling,"See you Monday at school then."
"Goodnight Jason," I whispered. He gave me a peck and I got out of the car.
"Goodnight Mia," he whispered back through the window.
I walked to my door and watched as Jason left. What a night!
