We made our way back inside and Cole and I started to eat our breakfast while my mom went upstairs and changed. After we had convinced my mom to go inside we cleaned up the broken pieces of the vase including the ones that flew into the pool as well. I hated to see my mom in such a state. It kind of scared me too. I don't know what she would be capable of doing when she was in that mood.
Cole sat across the table from me and I noticed how he kept staring at me. "What's wrong?" I asked thinking maybe he needed something.
"No nothing. I'm just concerned, for you. Are you ok?" he asked.
"Yeah I'm fine. It's just scary to see my mom like that," I whispered.
"Yeah, I can imagine. Hey you wanna go get some air before we go to church later?" he asked.
"Yeah I really need to clear my head, especially right now," I added. And that's exactly what I needed. We jumped into my car and we cruised around the streets. We stopped at the mall to get some ice cream and then walked through the stores acting silly. Cole grabbed some sunglasses and a hat and acted as if he were a rich French man, even adding the accent into his voice.
"Ma'am! You are welcome to get anything you like. I have all the money in the world," he bellowed with his French accent.
"Haha, more like you wish you had all the money in the world," I laughed.
"It is not ladylike to make fun of me, I deserve an apology!" he said in an outraged voice.
"You deserve a smack, that's what you deserve alright," I joked, chasing him around until we were scolded by the cashier. How I missed those days when we were younger and we did all kinds of crazy things. I had so much fun, even if it was just Cole and I. Jenny sometimes would be too busy with her cheer leading pep rallies so she wasn't able to join.
As we made our way to my car I thought I saw Jason. It looked like him but he had his back towards me. He had his arm around a girl's shoulders. She had golden brown hair and light skin, but I couldn't see her face. No it couldn't be him, I thought, so I kept walking.
I started the car and headed home. We finally got home and I parked the car in the garage. As I pushed the control button for the garage door to close I just stayed where I was. It felt peaceful to just sit in silence. I closed my eyes and leaned back. Cole was the first to break the silence.
"Well, I had fun," he laughed.
"Me too," I whispered. "Reminds me of old times when we were little, stealing things and running around everywhere."
"We didn't steal anything today though," he pointed out.
   "True," I whispered.
"Mia. Be honest with me," he started. I knew he was about to start asking about Jason. "Are you starting to like him?"
I opened my eyes and looked him in the eyes. And I couldn't deny the butterflies in my stomach.
"I barely went on one date with him Cole..." I pointed out.
   "Then, you're not?" he stated.
   "Not yet," I countered.
"I still don't think he's the right kind of guy for you," he said looking sad.
"Let's go inside already, we'll watch a movie on Netflix before we go to church," I sighed heading out of the car.

Jason's POV

As we walked hand in hand through the mall I realized I really had a good time with this girl. Hazel was outgoing and really my type. I knew I'd done something right in taking her out of that church. We had gone to the back where noone was likely to roam around, and we had sex. And really good sex. After, we had just gone back inside and acted like nothing happened. I looked for her right after the service ended and asked if she wanted to go hang out later and here we were at the mall.
"Hey it's getting kinda late, can you take me home?" Hazel asked.
   "Yeah let's go," I answered.
We finally headed to my car and I asked her for directions. I had been around this neighborhood before so I was able to find her house quite easily. I dropped her off in front of her house and asked if I could walk her in but she started panicking.
"Oh no, don't please. I can walk myself," she answered.
"Alright if you say so," I said. Before she headed out we had a make out session and almost did it again in the car. Damn this girl turned me on. I watched as she got to her door and headed home.
I parked my car in the garage and went inside. I got thirsty and went to the refrigerator to get a soda and spotted my mom in the living room watching some reality TV show.
"Mom I'm home, imma just go to bed I'm tired," I said heading towards the stairs.
"Jason! Get the hell over here right now!" she yelled. Crap. She was in a bad mood.
   "What?" I asked.
"What's the name of that girl you left with today after church?"
"Hazel... why?" I wondered. Why did she care.
"Oh my Jesus Christ I knew it! Jason I told you not to go out and do the same shit you always do with random girls! I accepted you and Mia going out because she's different but this? I am sick and tired of your behavior and the many times I have to scream at you, but you just don't listen. Do you even know who her parents are?!" she asked with an incredulous look on her face. Crap I had forgotten all about Mia. Shit how was I going to tell her? Wait, I don't have to tell her. It'll be my little secret.
"Why would I care who her parents are mom?" I answered.
"She is the daughter of the damn priest at our church! Do you know how this makes us look?! What an embarrasment!" she cried. "You know what? Get out. Get out right now Jason! Go get some clothes and I don't know where you're going to stay but you are out of this house until I say so! And you better go to school! I will be checking in every day, and if you skip even just once I'll revoke you of your credit cards! You're very lucky I'm not taking them from you right now. You are old enough to learn from your mistakes but you just don't understand," she said looking down. What!? She was kicking me out!
"Mom! I have nowhere to go! We barely moved here and I haven't even started school! I don't know anyone!" I yelled. How can she do this to me?
"You asked for it Jason," she said pointing a finger at me. What am I going to do now?
"Hurry up! I'm giving you fifteen minutes to get everything you need and get out!" she screamed.
"Mom! Are you serious?!" I cried.
"I am dead serious! You should hurry, the clock is ticking,"she said pointing at her watch.
"What about dad?" I asked. He was always on my side. He wouldn't allow my mom to do this.
"What about him? He agrees one hundred percent to this as well," she said. Crap. I hurriedly went up to my room and grabbed a luggage bag and stuck underwear, shirts, shorts, pants, shoes, deodorant, a toothbrush and paste, and the main necessities that I need every day. I can't believe my mom and dad would do this to me.
As I headed down the stairs I notice my mom crying and a wave of sadness hits me. Why was I such a damn douche? I grabbed my car keys and headed out the door. I looked back but my mom wasn't even looking at me. I really screwed up, I thought. I got in my car and drove. I drove to who knows where and as I looked at the neighborhood I entered I noticed it was Mia's. What a coincidence. I didn't know who to call that would let me in for who knows how long. And then a thought hit me. Doesn't Mia have a second house in the back? Maybe she can let me live there for a while. I checked what time it was and saw that it was ten minutes till ten, so I just decided to call her. The phone rang once, twice, three times until it went to voicemail. Is she even home?
I got out of my car and headed up to her door. I knocked and waited for a while before I figured I knew she wasn't home. I went back to my car and waited wondering where she had gone.

Mia's POV

The last church service finally ended and we got into my mom's car and headed home. As we neared my house I noticed a black car parked in front that looked so much like Jason's. And much to my amazement it was him. When he saw my mom's car approaching he stepped outside his car and waited till we parked in the driveway. Ugh. This wasn't going to end well with Cole here as well.
"Hey isn't that Jason?" my mom asked.
"Yup," I answered. "I'll go see what's up."
"I'll go with you," Cole intervened.

As we came out of the car I noticed how Jason looked a bit angry at the sight of Cole. Way to make this so much better Cole, I thought.
"Hey. Watcha doing here?" I asked.
"Hey. Umm, I wanted to see if I could talk to you and your mom," Jason answered looking nervous. I wondered what had happened.
   "Yeah, come inside," I said.
We made our way inside and sat in the kitchen.
"Do you want anything to eat? Drink?" I offered.
"Yeah can I have water?" Cole asked.
"Cole you can get it yourself," I said laughing.
"No I'm fine thanks," Jason answered, giving Cole a frown. They better not start something or I will have to kick them both out.
"Mom!" I yelled. "Jason wants to talk to us."
"Coming!" she yelled back running down the stairs. "What's up?"
"Good evening Mrs. Rodriguez. I wanted to ask for a really big favor," Jason started.
"I'll see what I can do. What's your big favor?" my mom asked.
"See, I got kicked out of my house... and I was wondering if you would be so kind as to let me stay here. I don't know anyone around here yet and you guys were my best choice. Either here or the car," Jason pleaded.
"Why did you get kicked out?" mom asked.
"A family problem... I really don't want to talk about it," Jason answered, staring at his hands on the table. I felt bad for him. I wondered what kind of family problem was so bad that he had to get kicked out.
"Well, I don't see a problem with that. We have a little house in the back you can stay in. Did you bring clothes and things you need?" mom asked. He was going to be right across from where I slept. My window overlooked the pool and the little house so I would have a view of him as well. There better not be any drama in the next few days. But that was my wishful thinking.
"Yeah they're in my car outside," he answered.
"Well go ahead and bring your stuff in and make yourself comfortable in the little house," my mom smiled.
"Thank you soo much!" Jason thanked. He quickly made his way out the door and brought in his bag.
"Do you need any help?" I offered.
"No I'm fine thanks. Can I talk to you for a minute though? Outside. Privately," he added.
"Ummm, yeah sure," I answered. "Cole you can make yourself comfortable if you want go to sleep already," I said looking at Cole. I saw that he was staring Jason down. If looks could kill, Cole would be throwing daggers at Jason with his eyes. I turned my head towards Jason and he had the same look on his face. They were having a staring contest! Wow, immature!
"Hey!" I yelled. "Snap out of it," I said snapping my fingers in their faces.
"Goodnight," Cole whispered heading up the stairs.
Unbelievable. I walked outside towards the little house and went inside. As Jason got a hold of his surroundings I sat on the bed. He put his luggage bag to the side and sat next to me.
