   Mia's POV ~

Thursday morning, I wake up, brush my teeth, and go downstairs to make myself some breakfast. I noticed my mom wasn't in the living room or the kitchen so I went to the backyard to see if maybe she was there. I noticed the door was open so she was definitely inside the back house. While I walked around our swimming pool that seperates the two houses, I noticed new plant pots were set out according to size. She must be starting to plant flowers again.
   "Mom, what are you doing?"
"Oh good your up, come and help me with the rest before you leave for school."
"Mom I haven't even eaten breakfast."
"Oh this'll just take a minute.  Common help me carry them to the front of the house."
I started sluggishly, carrying the pots to the front of the house. I looked at my watch and saw that it was only 6:57 AM. Who in the world would want to wake up at this hour to plant flowers? My mom, that's who. I think she finds peace planting flowers. My dad went MIA as a soldier in the army, and so we presumed him dead. I think she planted flowers when they had met so she plants them now to remember the old memories, but she never really talked about him much. I never saw him as a child so I only knew how he looked like from pictures from albums my mom had in the attic. It was frecking scary up there so I rarely went inside the attic. Once, when I was alone, I swear I heard footsteps and then it heard like something fell. I was so terrified I ran screaming to my neighbors house.
The owner of the house was a little, fragile, old woman named Mrs. Cook who loved to cook and bake. Such a coincidence. My mom said Mrs. Cooks never had kids so when I ran screaming to her house she was really sweet, and made me feel so much better. She made me chocolate chip cookies with warm milk. Ever since then, I loved visiting her every once in a while. She was like my grandma.
After I finished helping my mom, I ran inside, ate my Lucky Charms, and ran upstairs to my room to get ready for school. Thank goodness I didn't trip on the stairs this time! It was kind of cold this morning but I knew it was going to be a hot day, so I decided to wear white shorts with a turquoise tank top and sandals. By the time I finished it was 7:15. Good. Fifteen more minutes left, I'll get to school a little early.
While I walked to school, all I kept thinking about was Jason. His blue eyes! Damn! Colored eyes were my weakness. But it wasn't just his eyes that caught my attention. He was goddamn sexy. Like another Channing Tatum ♥. Well actually Channing Tatum is the hottest man alive so noone can beat him. Well except Adam Levine who according to People's magazine was the new SMA(Sexiest Man Alive)!
I was thinking too much about Jason that I hadn't realized I had arrived to school, until Jenny, and her enthusiasm called my name.
"Mia! The party is tomorrow! We're still going shopping today right? Oooh and then you can tell me all about yesterday!" she said almost whispering. That's when Cole decided to show up.
"What happened yesterday?" he asked suspiciously. His eyebrows were furrowed, confused.
"This is girl talk Cole! You can't just barge in and ask about things that don't concern boys..." Jenny said saving me from having to explain.
Cole laughed and seemed to have forgotten about his question.  The bell rang so we walked to our first class. Today in history we learned about conspiracies like the Illuminati and bigfoot, and all those other myths and fantasies people claimed to see. We talked about who had created the conspiracy and when they were brought into the world. I actually thought  it was pretty interesting. We were assigned to write an essay about a conspiracy and research information about it. Why are we writing an essay in History? Isn't that for English class? But whatever, I actually liked this topic.
I had totally forgotten that Cole was in my next class, so when I walked in I was more than surprised when he bombarded me with questions.
"So what was so exciting about yesterday?" he asked.
"What do you mean?" I asked acting clueless. I wasn't about to tell him about a boy I might have started to like... He would be sad and devastated and I'd break his heart.
"Jenny doesn't just act excited about anything... Something must have happened yesterday."
"No nothing happened. Just a friend of my mom had come over and she's new, so she wanted to know more about this place," I said. I wasn't completely lying, so I felt a bit better.
"Hmmm, alright. You can talk to me about anything... You know that right?" he said looking hurt.
"Yes I do. Thanks Cole. For being my best friend," I said smiling. I felt really bad but I couldn't tell Cole about Jason.
