(short chapter)
Dee's POV

After the party, I'm downstairs helping my mom clean up. "Mom, why was Darian here?" She stops picking up cups, "Oh, he contacted me and said he wanted to come to help congratulate you, I guess he heard it around school." I looked at her, "And you let him come why?" She grabs the trash bag from me, "Baby, let it go, I understand why you're surprised but that was over three months ago. Besides, he said y'all were still friends so I didn't think it would be a problem." I roll my eyes, "Yeah right, being friends is not talking since the day we broke up." She laughs at me as I walk up the stairs and close the door to my room.
It felt different. To talk to someone who didn't have ulterior motives to try and get with me. It was nice.
