Dee's POV

a few days later

Trent hasn't really been talking much since that night. We've only seen each other once, and that was briefly at the mall. I don't know what's been up with him. Just very distant. Ki and I hung out yesterday and it was nice, I told her about the tour and how I'm not worried about Darian while I'm away. Speaking of Darian, endless texts and endless attempts to get in contact with me. I continued to ignore him, guess he didn't get the memo. JD said he was fine with Trent coming on the tour but I wasn't so sure that I wanted him there anymore, considering he's not really speaking to me. I wasn't tripping though. I'm downstairs watching tv on the couch when my phone buzzes:

t: hang?
d: now you wanna hang?
t: sorry, been thinking
d: about?
t: things. you. me.
d: me? for what?
t: we'll talk later
d: ok, meet in an hour?
t: yeah

I get in the shower and get dressed. I ask my mom to take me to the movies and she drops me off 30 minutes later. When I walk inside, Trent is already there. I smile and hug him, "Hey stranger." He chuckles, "Hey Dee." We decide what movie we're going to see and pay and go sit down. When we get inside, the movie hasn't started yet, so i decide to bring up conversation, "So wanna tell me what you were thinking about?" I ask. He looks up from him phone, "Just things, the whole protection thing, and how I wish some people and things weren't a part of my past." I slowly nod, "Hm, interesting." He changes the subject, "So any texts from Darian lately?" he asks. I roll my eyes, "Did you really need to ask?" He laughs, "Just thought I'd be funny. But seriously, let me know if he's bothering you, I can handle it." I shake my head, "Nono, we won't need you handling anything." He chuckles and turns back to the screen.

After the movie, I ask where he wants to go next. He shrugs, "Can we go somewhere a little more secluded? I wanna talk to you about some things." I nod, "Back at the pond?" He nods and we walk towards his car.

15 minutes later, we reach the pond and go sit on the side of it. We look around for a bit and decide to walk through the woods behind the pond. We're talking about random things, our first kisses, first relationships, what we want to do when we get older.

We reach a stopping point and he stops me, "Dee, you're different." I furrow my eyebrows, "What do you mean different?" He shrugs, "Just different, you aren't a people pleaser. You say what's on your mind." I nod, "Yep pretty much." He grabs my hand and we start walking again, "I like different," he says. I smile, "And different likes you too." He smirks, "I'm glad."

We arrive back at the pond, and it's now dark. Before we go back to his car he looks at me, "Have fun?" I nod, "Yeah, lots of fun." He pulls me into a hug, "I'm happy I could help clear your head. Ready for the tour?" I stand on my tippy toes and kiss his cheek, "Super ready." He smiles and we get into the car and he takes me home, our hands intertwined the whole time.
