Dee's POV

I look at him, "What are you doing here?" He shrugs, still looking at his phone, "I don't know, why are you lying to me?" I sigh, "How did you get in?" He continues texting, "Your mom let me in. That's not answering my question." I roll my eyes, "Don't you have a curfew?" He begins to tap his foot, "It's only 8:30, chill. Either way, you aren't answering my question." I walk past where he's sitting and begin to walk upstairs, "You can't just show up anytime you want, Trent. I told you the truth." He looks at me with a confused expression, "Dee, that was so dumb. That didn't make any kind of sense, how did you tell me the truth if your mom was here the whole time?" I keep walking, "I don't have time to talk about this." He stands up and begins to follow me, "Please do." I sigh, "Go away, Trent." I walk into my room, he follows me a few seconds later, "What did I do to you? Why are you taking your frustration out on me?" I sit on my bed, "Because you think you can control everything. You don't need to know every detail of my life." He sits next to me, "So that's why you lied." I ignore him. He gets up and walks down the stairs and I hear the door slam downstairs.

I'm so confused with myself, in one day I've kissed my ex boyfriend, learned horrific things about my bestfriend, and created issues with the best guy friend I've ever had.

I'm about to go to sleep when my phone buzzes:

dar: goodnight beautiful
dee: goodnight :)

I smile to myself and plug my phone in. I feel really bad about being rude to Trent. It wasn't his fault that my bestfriend did what she did. I decided to try and clear the air. I look down at my phone and clicked on our messages:

d: hey...
t: yes?
d: can we talk?
t: so now you want to talk, you're twenty minutes too late
d: so you don't want to talk?
t: if i'm giving you attention, that means talk
d: why were you here?
t: because you lied. simple
d: lied about?
t: you're mom bringing you home. next?
d: and my text automatically told you to come to my house?
t: no i figured it out for myself
d: how so?
t: i was waiting in the parking lot to see who you were with
d: wtf? kinda stalker like.
t: just had to be sure
d: sure of what?
t: that you were safe
d: you didn't trust me to make good decisions?
t: it's not that, i just had a bad feeling
d: why do you care so much?
t: because I care about you
d: why?
t: just because i do
d: that doesn't answer my question
t: anyway, who was the guy?
d:...
t: dee? who?
d: darian..
t: fr?
d: uh yeah, thats why i didn't tell you who i was meeting
t: makes sense.
d: so we're good?
t: yeah it's cool, don't worry about it, but Dee, be careful.
d: sure thing, goodnight

I put my phone down and decide to go to sleep.

the next morning

I wake up and check my phone, seeing two missed calls, one from Ki and the other from Darian. Exactly what I needed, the two people confusing me the most. I also have a message from Kiara asking if we can talk later today. I ignore it and go turn the shower on.

When I'm finished I get dressed then go do my hair and walk downstairs to grab my computer and start school. About an hour later, I'm working on Chemistry and I get an email notification from Kiara:

K: You know I have your email too right?

I click delete and go back to my work.

When I've finished my hours for the day, I text Trent to see if he wants to hang out:

d: hey wyd
t: nothing, just got out of school
d: oh, wanna chill?
t: where at?
d: your place?
t: you sure?
d: yeah it's fine
t: okay, i'll pick you up on my way home.
d: bet
t: be there in 15

I go upstairs to ask my mom if I can go hang out with him, of couse, she says I can but she wants me in before 7:30 because I have semester exams tomorrow.

I nod and go in my room to grab my charger and wallet and go downstairs to wait for Trent.

When he pulls up, I go get in his car and we head to his house. We pull up and its gigantic. I wonder why he's never brought me here before. I look out of the window, "Whoa. Why didn't I know this existed?" He shrugs and turns off the car, "Lots of people only like me for the things I have. I need to make sure they're real friends before they get this exclusiveness." I laugh at his comment and get out of the car. We walk inside and it's even better than the outside. I look around some more, "What do your parents do?" I ask. He smiles, "My dad is the co-owner of Geico and my mom's a dentist." I nod, "Cool." He shuts the door, "Want to meet them?" Before I have the time to answer, he calls them down. A few minutes later, they both come downstairs, "Hi, nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs.Locklear," I tell them while shaking their hands. His mom smiles, "Hey sweetie, you're welcome anytime." His dad just nods in agreement. I smile and his parents go back to their offices. Trent walks into the living room and I follow. "Dee, what do you want to do?" I shrug, " I don't know. Do you have any siblings?" He hesitates then answers, "Yeah, a brother, but we don't talk about him much. He isn't really around.." I nod slowly and change the subject, "Soooo um what do you want to do?" He looks at his phone, "It doesn't matter, we can watch a movie if you want." I halfway smile, "Sure, why not?" I follow him to the room with a projector. He grabs the remote and turns on Netflix. He looks at me, "What movie do you want to watch?" I shrug, "Doesn't matter." He goes to the scary movies. I cringe, I'm okay with scary movies but that doesn't mean I like them. I can't let him know that though, so I just look down at my phone until he picks one. We're watching Texas Chainsaw. Great. I try to stay on my phone but he reaches over and locks it, he smiles, "No phones." I sigh and nod and look at the screen.

The beginning of the movie isn't bad whatsoever. It was actually pretty chill. He warned me about what was coming up, I ignored him, although I shouldn't have. There was a jump scare and I jumped, "Oh shit." He laughs, "I told you." I roll my eyes and then cover them with my hands. He laughs at me, "Aww, poor baby is scared." I hit him in the arm, "Yo, shutup, it's not funny." He smiles, "Aight, I'm done, I'm done." He helps me cover my eyes. Something about the warmth he gives off makes me relax almost instantly.
