"Okay. Nors, I think you better sit down. In fact, I think I will too." Jenna said to me and promptly pulled out a chair, plonking her massive butt onto it.
I'm kidding, Jenna isn't massive. Hardly.
I pulled out a seat for me too and sat down in it. Before long, questions and all kinds of idiotic statements were running out of my mouth before I could stop them.
"Are you moving? Oh no, you aren't pregnant are you? Wait, you aren't in love with Wes are you? Ew…oh my god, please tell me you aren't turning into a lesbian! I mean, lesbians aren't bad but it'd just be weird if my best friend was one but because it's me, I will support you. Oh no! Oh, I know what it is! Oh my god, you're pregnant with Wes' baby and turning into a lesbian because you love Wes and he doesn't love you back and you're going to run off and join the circus because you want to grow a beard!" I wailed.
Did I mention that me plus waking up at an ungodly hour, having drunk no coffee yet equals a blabbering, idiotic freak with an overactive imagination that is only overactive because it does almost nothing in its spare time and goes crazy?
No?
Well, I digress.
Jenna threw back her head and laughed long, loud and hard, gasping at my idiocy.
I sighed and waited patiently for her to finish laughing at my ridiculous moment, getting up to serve the coffee when the water had finished boiling.
I set the two mugs down upon the countertop and grabbed one of them, taking a careful sip so as not to scald my tongue.
I sighed in pleasure at the taste, sipping a little until I felt more…
Well, sensible.
"Tell me." I simply said once Jenna had completely calmed down and was back to her moody, down self that seemed to be taking over her at the moment.
"Well, you got one part of that nonsensical story right." she replied before sipping her coffee.
I couldn't stop the coffee from making it's hasty exit out of my mouth, spray-wise.
"Jeez, Nors. If you want to say something then say it, don't try spraying it 'cause hon, it never works." she sighed before turning around and grabbing our wet cloth off the sink tap and passing it to me.
I scrubbed at the counter to get rid of the liquid droplets of my brown coffee that had once been in my mouth and were probably infected already.
Once I finished scrubbing, I quickly turned back to the conversation.
"What did you just say again?" I demanded.
"I said, that you got one part of that idiotic, ridiculous, nonsensical story right." she repeated slowly as if she was talking to a 3 year old.
I frowned at her.
"What part was I right about?" I asked, mighty suspicious, my eyes narrowed at her.
She went quiet then lifted the mug, the rim coming into contact with her lips and although the liquid hadn't reached her mouth yet, she told me.
"The 'loving Wes' part." Jenna muttered into her mug of coffee.
I was stunned and shocked.
I couldn't speak.
Gasp.
Jenna is in love with Wes?
My two best friends?
I knew that I would never fall in love with Wes but I'd forgotten about Jenna.
