Norah;
"And then what happened? Something bad probably judging by the way you're pacing the room like a caged tiger…honestly, Nors, you must be overreacting or something because it seems so far like your dance with Dante was heavenly. A perfect 'cloud nine' moment, in fact. The dreamy song, the hot guy, so on and so forth…" Jenna trailed off, one eyebrow raised at me.
Overreacting?
"Jenna! Don't you get it?!" I burst out in exasperation.
"What? That you're dancing with your dream guy whilst your boyfriend is most likely watching and that you've developed feelings for said dream guy unknowingly and that you're having conflicting emotions about the two and dream guy is jerk but boyfriend is sweet however things are rocky in your relationship, blah, blah, blah?" Jenna ventured.
"No! Of course no-how the heck did you know that?!" I suddenly cut myself off, turning around to face Jenna, shocked.
My blonde best friend merely shrugged, smirking at me.
"You aren't the only one who reads romance, remember? Besides, judging by the way you're acting now and on the night of the Winter dance, it's sort of obvious."
I gaped at her.
How obvious am I? Oh my god, do people know?
"I mean, obvious, to me that is. I'm your best friend, remember? I can read you like a book…?" Jenna quickly put in.
I breathed a sigh of relief.
"So, it doesn't show to others, right?"
Jenna shook her head.
We were having our scheduled 'talk' now, the one where Jenna wanted to talk to me right after my dance with Dante?
Yeah, that one.
She wanted to have it after the dance but I fell onto the couch, promptly exhausted and went straight to sleep.
"Well…what do I do?" I asked her.
"Break up with Braden." she said simply.
I gaped again.
"You, have got to be kidding me. Jenna! Braden, is my boyfriend, I really like him, I can't just break up with him!" I cried.
"But, Nors, what else are you going to do? I mean, what you've described to me just now about Dante…it sounds like something else…"
"What do you mean?" I asked her suspiciously, stopping my harried pace.
"Oh um, nothing." Jenna said quickly.
I grew even more suspicious, my gaze pinning her to her chair. She fidgeted.
"Jenna…"
"Nors, it's nothing okay? I'm just tired. Just…don't." She told me quietly. I peered at her, noticing that she was looking slightly bushed. I let the subject drop…but one way or another, I'll get it back on track.
Preferably soon.
"Right, well, okay. Anyway, as I was saying, I can't break up with him! I have no clue! I have no freaking idea what to do!" I vented out in frustration to a quietly listening Jenna.
"Right. Well, Nors, what do you think you have to do?" she asked me.
I looked at her with incredulity.
"I just told you, I. HAVE. NO. CLUE." I explained once more, the troubled tone of my voice leaking into my words.
"Oh right. Well, Nors, I don't know what to tell you. Are you sure though about-"
