Elijah's POV
I listened as Arista walked into the kitchen, surprising Rebekah
"I told you to stay outside!"
Her tone was scared. I knew something was wrong. I began walking down the stairs, listening the entire time to the two girls.
"Arista, don't." my sister said in her strongest voice.
I heard a loud growl and instantly knew something was very wrong. I used my vampire speed and zoomed into the kitchen at the exact moment Arista lunged at my little sister.
I moved quickly, and made myself a barrier between the two. Catching Arista as she jumped forward. She fought me. Her eyes were black and her fangs protruded from her gums. The sincere girl I'd spoken to in the hallway was gone.
She snarled and nipped at me, trying to bite me so I'd let her go. I quickly grabbed her face in my hands and stared into her eyes. She stared back, unknowing just what I was about to do.
"Arista, go to sleep. Rest until tonight when things have calmed down."
Her eyes instantly drooped and she went limp. I caught her and picked her up, turning to my sister.
"Are you alright?"
"Bloody Hybrids," she spat, trying to cover up just how scared she'd been.
"I'll put her to bed. You might want to clean up before she wakes." I looked down at her hands. The blood bag she'd been feeding from had exploded as she'd tightly gripped it with fear. Now her clothes were soaked and the floor and counter had red puddles on them.
I turned and carried her light body up the stairs. She was breathing lightly, her mind blank as she slept. I felt guilty for using compulsion on her, but I would under no circumstances allow my family to be hurt.
I laid her gently on her bed, slowly pulling the duvet over her small frame. She would sleep until tonight, giving me plenty of time to make sure all traces of blood were gone from the house.
"Is everything alright?"
I turned from Arista's bed and looked to the doorway. There stood a very pregnant werewolf.
"Hayley," I smiled, "everything's fine. Just my sister starting trouble again."
"I heard that!" Rebekah yelled from downstairs
Hayley giggled, I enjoyed her laugh so much.
She stepped into the room and stood next to me, observing the young girl on the bed.
"I feel so bad for her. She's all alone." she sighed, "Just like I was at that age."
I felt sadness thinking of her being alone. She's been searching for her wolf pack for years. She still hasn't found them.
"Well you're not alone now. And neither is she."
She looked at me with her beautiful eyes and smiled.
"How long do you think she'll be like this?"
"You mean uncontrollable? I have no idea. Stefan believes he can help her but I think it's going to be a very difficult process."
She nodded and raised an eyebrow, "I don't suppose there's anyway I could, ya know, talk to her or anything?"
I tilted my head, curious as to why she would want to speak with her
"And why would you want to do that?"
She shrugged, "Well she is the closest thing to a guide book that I have on what to expect with this baby," she rubbed her hands over her swollen abdomen, "and I think she needs to know that there are good people in the world. She's only ever known the bad ones."
