Chapter 20: Lots Of Guilt

"Nicolette," Sebastian called as he walked through the open door of his aunt's residence, "I have the information we needed. I know how we can strike back at those disgusting Mikaelsons!"

 Nicolette appeared from a small room in the back, she held a large grimoir in her hands as she stepped into view with a devilish grin on her face.

"What is it my nephew? You are back so soon?"

"I know how to avenge Viola." he stated blankly, no emotion on his face.

Nicolette's eyes lit up at his words, "Tell me what knowledge you possess."

"I know why the Mikaelson's took such an interest in the Siifter's; why they were having their home watched, why they captured Viola when they found her there, they found out about Arista."

Nicolette had assumed as much. When she'd heard of Viola's kidnapping at the Siifter home she'd gone and investigated the next day. She'd found the burnt remains of both Jonathan and Rosetta, giving the obvious answer that they'd been murdered. Because the Mikaelson's were the ones having the home watched it was fair to assume they were the culprits. After saying a brief prayer for the souls of the two dead beings, she'd gone to the familiar cellar, hoping to find Arista chained in her usual place. Instead she found a pool of dried blood and the broken chains that had once held her.

"And what has become of the young hybrid?"

Nicolette had allowed Sebastian and Viola the knowledge of Jonathan and Rosetta Siifter's miracle child long ago. They helped her summon the strength she needed to make Arista forget after attacking for her parents. At first the twins had been against the imprisonment and use of the young girl, but after hearing that they would be the head witches of whatever area the Siifter's conquered and would be able  to do magic as they pleased on whomever they saw fit, they'd quickly changed their tune and agreed to support their aunt.

"She was loose in the woods tonight. She slaughtered a group of campers a few miles West of here, tore them apart like she used to do for her parents. There was no supervision, I believe she was being held captive by the original family but managed to make her way into the woods tonight. It seems that even the Mikaelson's cannot contain her wild side. Once they discovered her whereabouts they were only able to stop her attacks by breaking her neck. They were carrying her back the way they'd come when I left and came to you."

It was not surprising that Arista had gone on a killing spree. She was programmed to kill and the longer she went without doing so, the more carnage she would create when she did. Nicolette knew of this and was not surprised in the slightest by Sebastian's words. She had been working with the Siifter's for a long time and she'd been tending to Arista for 10 years, she knew more about the monster the girl truly was than her own parents, she knew it was only a matter of time until she killed again.

"She is following her true nature. She is born to kill and if she tries to get control of it, it will only become stronger. It will only be a matter of time before even the originals cannot control her. Fortunately, I have a plan that will remove her from their care presently."

A dark look washed over Nicolette's face as she turned the grimoir she held over to Sebastian. He took it a glanced at the pages it was opened to, he shot his head up with wide eyes. He understood what his aunt's plan was.

A puppeteering spell.

She planned on taking Arista out of her own body and placing herself in. Being able to control Arista like a puppet without any struggle or disobedience. She could have the entirety of New Orleans killed in hours if she pleased. There was no limit on Arista's strength and with a witch as old and powerful as Nicolette at her side there would be no stopping them. If she completed this spell on the young hybrid she would have control over everyone, even the Mikaelsons.
