I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel, waiting at a red light. Weird things have been happening all weekend and I didn't know what to do about it. I asked everyone I could about it, and they didn't know. Or so I thought they didn't. Jessica has transactions from her to someone I now call John more often. It usually happens when things get personally, such as speaking about T or dysphoria [A/N it actually makes me sad to say that but yea. Alex, if you see this stay strong babe. it'll come soon enough.]. It was weird, but maybe John wasn't good at speaking about such things.
All the way to the store I thought about the unusual occurrences, unable to forget them. Speaking of unusual, this car has been driving along side me for the longest time. Of course it could just be a coincidence, but the person in the passenger side kept taking notes, or so it seemed. That, also cold be a wrong-time-wrong-place. but I wasn't sure. It just seemed off to me. At the next light I observed note-lady. She had dark hair, which looked artificial, pulled back into a half-up-half-down type thing. The down half covered her face. From what I could see, she was wearing all black; a black three-quarter shirt, a black scarf and black bracelets that moved up and down as she wrote.
I was separated from my observances when the person behind me beep his horn. I took my eyes off of the lady and put them back on the road, following my usual way to the store with the odd minivan still following alongside me.
I finally lost writing-lady and her partner in the store, yet I still felt a presence. I felt like someone was following me, although I knew that was a slim chance. Even though I knew no one was "lurking in the waters" - or the isle or isles around me - I couldn't help but watch my back as I got the essentials: junk food, more junk food and the occasional healthy snack. When I was sure I had all that was needed, I proceeded to check out. As I walked past a display of Oreos, I saw a black streak pass on the other side through the corner of my eye. By the time I turned, though, whatever it was had vanished. I ignored that also because I figured it was my brain being paranoid. I got online, paid and walked to my car.
As I put my bags in the back, I heard an alarm a few rows over. I stood on the backseat, peering over the tops of SUVs to see the same minivan's lights blinking and note-lady shuffling with the keys to turn it off. They didn't seem to have any bags from what I could see...weird. After toggling with the alarm, it stopped screaming its alert signal. Plenty of people were staring at the lady who, to me, seemed to have no face and her male accomplice. They quickly got in the car and pulled out of their spot, then out of sight.
Since the episode was over, I followed suit and left. What I saw at the exit scared me more than anything ever could.
[A/N: I'm really bad at paragraphing and long chapters, okay? I try my best. In case someone didn't know, "A/N" means author's note. K? K. Thanks for reading!]
