I led Jessie to the table at the park I sit at: the one under the tree. It was the furthest away from where the children played, and the only one where the sun didn't beam on your face or back. Although it was one of the best spots to seat here, rarely was it taken. Since everyone came with their children, they needed to be near the playground to watch their children. I, on the other hand, did not.

We sat down and I opened the plastics bag, containing all that we bought: bread, pickles, ham, cheese, Pepsi, fruits and  cookies. We were set. I gave her and I each and plate and placed the foods in between us. She placed napkins, plastic forks and knives in the middle, also, before we began to prepare to eat.

I allowed her to get what she wanted first so I wouldn't take it all. Jessie make a ham and cheese sandwich, then cut it in half and placed a pickle next to it. She wrapped her hand around a Pepsi and popped open the cap before leaving it beside her to grab grapes, strawberries and blueberries. A nod towards her plate signaled she was done, and that it was my turn. I made a sandwich and put my pickles inside of it, then gathered the rest of my food while watching her take dainty bites of the sandwich she had made. I laughed.

"Eat it like a man!" Reaching across the table, I shoved the sandwich in her mouth. She laughed, then nodded and went on to eat like a normal person.

I noticed everything around me, and the beauty of spring coming through. The grass and leaves were starting to grow again, and birds were going crazy trying to nest. I heard the children squealing behind me, probably running around playing hide-and-go-seek or tag. Don't grow up, kids, I think as two boys run past, one chasing after the other.

As I observed the area, I heard a snicker come from behind the bushes near our table. Someone must be hiding back there. It was really a common hiding spot; its the only spot the children go near this table. I heard my name from behind, so I turned thinking maybe one of my mates happened to be here. As I turned, I heard a scream from behind me, but dismissed it. No one was there, so I turned to face Jessie once again. Only, one thing was wrong.

She was gone.

I looked behind the bush; she wasn't there. I looked under the table, behind the tree, by the playground; I even asked people if they saw her, but no one knew. Could you lose a person? Yes. Could you lose a eighteen year old? Yes. I just did.

I looked straight ahead, hoping I'd see her, running, trying to play a joke. The thing was, I did. I saw her. . . but not how I wanted to see her.

[A/N: There is a lot of details in this! I wanted you to have a visual of the area so you can kinda figure out what the scene is gonna be. I should make this into a movie! As if I was good enough and had the time & money, haha.

If anyone wants to advertise, please tell! I'll use your name and dedicate a chapter to you! PLEASEEEE, thank youuuu xx]
