I stepped outside, squinting into the sun. Plugging my headphones into my phone, I pushed them into my ears and walked down the block as the radio blasted into my ears. I turned the volume up. The man's voice, fuzzy, came through the little buds in my ears. "And, in our news, we seem to have some irrational phone calls. Alex Bertie apparently claimed his parents were taken by robots after he was robbed and beaten by a suspect of whom we do not know. You can only get so far, boy! You need help."

I ran back to my house, locking myself inside. I slid down against the door, pulling my hands through my hair. I called WPP, hoping to get someone who made some sense. It rang twice. "Hello, Witness Protection Program."

"Alex Bertie. Who isn't insane."

"Please hold."

"No! Can't you talk to me?"

"No, Sir."

"Why?"

"Just hold on." the line was silent as I felt my heart thump in my chest, my vision becoming blurry. I wanted to cry. I wanted to die.

"Aye," someone said, making me jump.

"Hi."

"Issues again, Mr. Bertie?"

"Yes."

"Such as?"

"I know this may sound irrational, but it's one-hundred percent true. My family was replaced with robots. I killed them. I still don't know where my mum and sister are. It was broadcasted over the radio. I heard it. I heard it. I heard it. I'm not crazy. I'm normal," my voice cracked, "Please. . . don't make me seem crazy."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not crazy. . ." I said, my hands shaking. I crawling into a ball and rocked back and forth, holding onto every bit of sanity I had left in me. I knew I wasn't crazy, I knew I knew what I knew. There were robots that looked exactly like Holly and mum. They aren't here. I am alone. Phillip has a plan for me. It shouldn't have gotten out, either. That's the weird part. None of that should've happened. It's Witness Protection Program for a reason. They need to protect me, and they didn't. Whoever that was let it out. Whoever that was is in violation of the law. Whoever that was a fake.

"I know, would you like me to send someone?"

"Yes, please," I said, nodding. I know they couldn't see me, but I nodded anyway. I nodded as the call disconnected, I nodded as I hit end, I nodded as I got up and walked to the couch. I just nodded, I nodded because I wasn't crazy.

I heard a knock at the door, making me spring out of my seat to get it. I opened it, revealing a man and two women. they immediately entered. "Alex," one of hem said, sitting me down on the couch.

"Lady," I said, cracking a smile.

"I'm Paige, this is John and this is Danni. We're from Witness Protection. What seems to be the matter?" I went back to my ball position as John looked around the house, dragging his fingers along the TV.

"Last time I c-called, some m-man answered. I told him tha-that Phil had replaced my family w-with robots. He called me crazy or s-something. I think he c-called the media. They know."

"Who did you talk to?" Danni said.

"He didn't tell me his name." I tried to control my tears, pulling my legs harder against my chest.

"When did you call?"

"Sunday. Around one o'clock."

"And you got forwarded to someone?" I hadn't realized that I stopped nodding until I started again, agreeing with Paige. Danni scribbled things down as a spoke.

"Who was on staff then, John?" John looked into his bag, pulling out paper after paper and putting them on the coffee table.

"Aha," he said, lifting one into the air. Unfolding it, he sat down on the couch. He squinted at the paper, going over it with his index finger. His mouth opened as he squinted harder, looking at the paper. Danni threw her hands up, ripping the paper out of his hands and looking at it. She squinted, laughing, then looked back at the paper.

"Looks like it was Phil."

"Wait, what?" I said, astounded.

"Yea, Phil."

"But. . ." I said, going back to nodding and rocking. Maybe I was crazy. All I knew was that Phillip had now started to work at WWP, and we was out to get me even further than physically. HE wanted me mentally.

"I get what the kid's saying!" John said, giddy about his breakthrough. Paige and Danni stared at him, blankly. "The stalker is Phillip. His name is Phil. Phil is shirt for Phillip. It's common sense. When did he get enrolled?"

"Joan showed him around just last Saturday," Paige said.

"Crap," I said, my hands going back to shaking. John held his finger up, lifting his phone to his ear. His voice faded as he left the room.

"How did that happen?" Paige said, turning to Danni.

"If he didn't have any records. . ."

"But, he should because of the thing with Alex," Paige pointed at me. I sat there, zoning out as the two girls talked. I didn't want to hear it. Any of it. I didn't want to be here, in a sense of feeling. I was so scared and worried and mad at the same time, I didn't know what to do. Everything was crumbling, slipping away so fast. I didn't know who I was anymore. Phil had taken everything away from me. The one thing that was supposed to keep me safe was poisoned now, too and there was no way out. There was no way to stop it, no way to keep safe. My being was toxic, as was my life. This is what it had come to be. . . fear, worry and nothing but danger. My life was a living nightmare, and I was the monster. Phil controlled the craze, and no one else had control. And that was that.

[A/N: I know my goal is extremely insane since that's over 50 reads but with the way I'm going, I want to see. I've gained over fifty in two nights. . .so. . .
