[Goals for the chapter: VOTES - 85]

We filed out of the worn-down building, moans filing the air as injured limbs were forced onward to exit the building. Men in handcuffs, black masks clutched between them were pushed roughly out of the building and towards cars with flashing lights, doors wide open and ready or their arrival.

We had blown the case wide open, but yet Phillip was no where to be seen. More trucks pulled up, men and women hurrying out, pulling medical supplies from the truck as the line moved slowly out of the building and around, more police showing up and helicopters roaming the air by the second. We had made big news. News reporters scurried about, trying to get information out of anyone would talk. No one seemed to want to explain. A lot of the people in okay condition had already agreed to press chargers ad that everyone should, and it was clear we'd get millions each for the pain everyone was put through. Now if only we could find Phillip. . .

"Alex, do you think the man who was in charge of this is the one who's been attacking you?" a lady spoke, a microphone stretched out in front of me, cameras behind her catching all of it. I pressed my lips together, yes, I thought, but kept filing out towards the ambulances and cars. I wasn't about to release any info without consent of the people who have been helping me.

"Why do you think of this whole situation?" I heard another voice say as camera men ran around, desperately trying to keep up with their reporter while carrying equipment on their back. heir subject shook his head and kept walking, limping as he went. A dirty boy fell to the ground in front of him, cameras automatically darting towards the boy on the floor. People ran out of line and helped the boy to his feet, supporting him as they basically dragged him towards an ambulance who had yet to set up. Quickly, everyone dropped what they were doing and lifted the boy onto a stretcher and buckled him in (as if he could move, even if he wanted to) and placed an oxygen mask over his face, then wiped his arm down and inserted a needle, connected it to an IV and started attaching him to machine machine. It all happened so fast: they way they went into help-action and got him all spruced up, assuring he had the proper things to hopefully make it through. It was truly amazing.

The boy held up eight fingers and a woman nodded, placing an ice pack on his head. I looked over to where a person was being plled through the window out of the house. It was Jake. I kept walking slowly, looking back at him. His eyes were wide and watery, his nose dripping blood, a brace around his neck and his arm wrapped up tight in a sling that went around his neck brace. The paramedic asked him something, then nodded as Jake spoke. He looked around and his eyes stopped on me. "Alex," the doctor said and waved me over. I looked around and pointed to myself and he nodded, so i slowly got off the line and jogged over to them. "You know this boy?"

"Um, yea." I said, looking at Jake. His eyes plead with me.

"Come with us." They kept walking, the man who called me over peering over his shoulder as he walked backwards to the truck. I trailed behind nervously. "So, what happened?" he asked, easing the stretcher down in front of the truck as nurses swarmed us. He brushed his hands off on each other and placed them on his hips, watching me.

"Well," I started, "Assuming you know the plan-"

"I do," he intervened.

"Okay, so when Black Mask - that's what we called the workers over there - came in, clearly he was mad and was asking who was in charge and stuff and he stormed over to Jake and just lifted him up by his shirt with the greatest of ease and his feet were about this much off the ground," I widened my hands apart, leaving a gap in between, "And then he screamed asking if he was in charge and Jake shook his head, but black Mask threw him against the wall, anyway. Pictures fell off the wall and everything. People tried to help him but he ended up passing out. They splashed him with water and stuff and after about ten minutes he woke up but he was still really messed up. It was. . it was bad." The paramedic nodded, looking back over to Jake who was now laying on the table, nurses surrounding him.

"I see," he nodded, and stroked his chin. "Thanks."

"Welcome," I said, then glanced back overat Jake. His eyes were closed. I stood there awkwardly, looking ack at Jake, then at the line and the paramedic, wondering if i should leave.

"You can go, we will call you back if needed." I nodded and turned on my hell, then walked back to the line who didn't move very far since I left, and slipped back into my spot. We took a step forward.

I looked around at the scene as everything seemed to start to move in slow motion. The running reports seemed to be walking, and the camera men lagging around behind them. The line moved even slower than it did (if it went any slower we'd be going backwards). The people pulling damaged people out of the house seemed to be moving lie molasses just as the people helping the injured were going. I blinked and looked aroud again, rubbing my eyes. Everything went back to normal. The reports started running again, the camera men jogged, the line crawled along, rescurers moved in a fast-paced motion and the paramedics moved swiftly along inserting needles and taking blood pressure, trying to keep everyone alive. People were finally released from this hell of a camp, and it hit me.

I was part of the reason this happened.

[A/N: I'm backkk!! Here's an update after forever. It should be pretty regular now, but there will be days kipped so don't say I didn't say that. Anyway, here it is!

This book is actually almost over. . .I'm sorry to say. There will be ABOUT fifty chapters, and as you see this is 44. If I do get 2k on this book, I will write a sequel. I already have it all planned out, so you should read & share if you want more! Okay, that is all.
